Summary of the Profile
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The aim of the programme is to prepare highly qualified art curators and critics who have theoretical knowledge and practical experience to initiate, organize and manage art events, to communicate about art production with the audiences, to interpret and evaluate art production in a wide cultural, social and economical context, to accomplish independent research of art institutions. After successful completion of the programme masters are able to act independently and professionally in the field of art presentation, to identify and solve different issues of art and visual culture, to create original curatorial projects.
Learning outcomes:
After successful completion of the programme graduates will be able:
1. To analize the field of art presentation (institutions, initiatives, projects) applying the knowledge of contemporary art theories, criticism and curatorship.
2. To apply different theoretical and methodological principles in the interpretation of local and global art processes.
3. To evaluate the impact of cultural, social and economical milieu affecting presentation, dissemination and reception of art.
4. To evaluate the activities of art institutions by using the latest theories of curatorship and communication with the audiences.
5. To apply advanced models of curating and managing for the initiation, development and maintenance of art projects.
6. To integrate knowledge of difference disciplines in developing creative communication between art and society.
7. To create original curatorial projects using the skills acquired during the studies and the examples of good experiences.
8. To work creatively and cooperatively in mediating between art objects, institutions and audiences.

Lectures, seminars, discussions, workshops,
practical tasks, analysis of the literature, case studies,
project development and others.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
An accumulative grade system is applied at the university to assess study achievements. Students’ study achievements are assessed by the means colloquiums, other interim tests (homework, individual tasks) and examination or students’ individual work (project) that is defended. Practice, research papers and projects are assessed according to the set procedures. The final grade integrates the grades of interim tests and the examination. The examination grade has to comprise 50 per cent of the final grade. The weight of interim tests within the final grade is determined by the teacher of the study subject, who presents the assessment system to students during the first classes, taking into account the following obligatory proportions in the first and second cycle studies: the colloquium grade comprises 15-35% of the final grade; the average grade of tests, homework and other assignments comprises 5-35% of the final grade; the academic performance of a student who did not participate in interim tests is marked by “0”. Examinations and colloquiums are taken in written from; their tasks have to be equal or equivalent to all examinees. All students studying the same study subject take tests (colloquium, examination) at the same time.
