Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Cumulative assessment is applied. Certain learning outcomes foreseen by the curriculum are assessed by components of the cumulative assessment. Each subject or module is completed with the final examination or the evaluation of the student's individual work (project). The final grade consists of the cumulative assessment components, which are indicated in the curriculum of the study subject (e.g. intermediate settlements, self-study assignments, examination). The percentage of the final grade is indicated in the curriculum of the study subject.

Objective(s) of a study program:
The main objective of the study program is to prepare comprehensive high quality university degree specialists, having knowledge of the nature elements and landscape management technologies, of art in spatial design, able to apply the laws of spatial planning, adapting or transforming landscape and natural environment elements according to the needs of society, to keep balance between human created elements and nature, carry out business in landscape design, to lead management of green spaces.
The first partial objective is to provide the knowledge of society development and to inoculate the concepts of professional values, to develop social responsibility, to convey principles of sustainable development, skills of natural, cultural and social environment assessment in connection with the development of landscape architecture trends.
Second partial objective – provide knowledge of the nature elements and landscape management technologies, to develop skills of rational use of natural resources, landscape planning and management business management in landscape design.
Third partial objective – provide knowledge of spatial art, history and theory of landscape architecture, to develop capability of green space design incorporating harmony laws of art, creating a different scope and scale of human habitat.

Activities of teaching and learning:
Contact work consists of lectures, seminars, excursions, design studios, laboratory work, exercises, practices, consulting, tests, exams, supervising the final work.
Student self-dependant learning activities include preparation for seminars, laboratory work, tests and exams, substantive literature studies, taking individual and group tasks, coursework, final work preparation and delivery.
Teaching methods applied promote students' creative skills. They include debate, discussion, mind map, brainstorming, expert method, student presentations and approach to work in pairs and in groups, case studies of the real problems, development scenarios, practice in the workplace etc. The students are inspired for active participation in the lectures: after some introduction by the lecturer, they are supposed to read the study material before the following lectures, to formulate some questions, to speak to some topics, to participate in the discussion.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Studies of the subject end with an exam. Exam may be taken in written or oral form. Before the exam session students are required to complete the laboratory, control, exercise activities, course projects and other forms of self-learning. The final note for a study subject consists of the knowledge evaluation during the exam (50-60%) and other work evaluation.

Objective(s) of a study programme:
The main aim of the study programme is to prepare highly qualified agronomy graduates from Master’s studies capable of systematizing and creatively applying the latest research-based agrobiology, agronomy and information technology knowledge to solve scientific and industrial problems of agriculture, to ensure innovation, agricultural production and environmental coherence, and to work as a scientific researcher, consultant, carry out managerial work and self-improve in the field of agriculture.
The first sub-aim is to prepare specialists who are capable of making agricultural production decisions that ensure the sustainability of agrosystems, based on scientific advice, legislative acts and normative documents as well as providing consultations.
The second sub-aim of “Crop Science” specialization is to prepare specialists who are capable of evaluating and creatively solving scientific and crop production problems, introducing innovations and managing the processes taking place at various levels of agrosystems.

Students are evaluated during the semester and exam session. The method of cumulative assessment is applied: learning achievements are assessed by mid-term assignments. After students have mastered several topics of the study subject, mid-term assessment is carried out by evaluating their assignments, acquired knowledge and skills (control works, practical assignments etc.). During the exam session all the acquired knowledge and skills are evaluated. During the examination session the learning achievements of the students are assessed in the form of exam. During the examination the knowledge of a student is evaluated on the scale from 1 to 10. The final mark consists of mid-term assessment evaluations and exam evaluation. Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Animal Resource Management Master studies will be carried out on the basis of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Study Regulation (LUHS Approved by the Senate in 2014 June 20. Resolution no. 47-05, the amendments approved by the Senate LUHS 2015 January 23. Resolution 54-04).
The main study record document is statement and other documents are LSMUSIS electronic statement and study book – they are legal study progress records.
Learning outcomes of the subject are assessed by exam, achievements of practices are evaluated by practice defense and results of all study program results are evaluated by Master's thesis.
The student begins to prepare Master thesis at the beginning of the studies and presents it to the public final thesis commission.
Requirements for the preparation of final thesis, methodological guidelines and assessment procedures will be confirmed by Council of Animal Husbandry Technology Faculty and presented at LUHS website.
Concept of LUHS student achievement assessment applies to the Animal Resource Management study program and is aligned with national and international documents.
Student achievement assessment is adapted to the Recommendation of European Parliament and Council 2008/C 111/01/EC of the European Qualifications Framework and evaluation has two objectives: to measure student progress and to evaluate the final study results, identified in study the program as the expected learning outcomes.
In anticipation, organization and execution of student achievement assessment is guided by the following principles: feasibility (evaluation linked to the study program (course, module or cycle) the expected learning outcomes); reliability (received assessment information and evaluation results must be objective and independent if assessor was changed); clarity (evaluation system must be informative, understandable to assessors and the assessed); utility (the evaluation must help the appraises to achieve program objectives and expected learning outcomes); impartiality (assessment of evaluation methods should be equally suitable for all appraises); publicity (evaluation is based on public criteria and a specific assessment of the results and their explanation is available for appraises). Result of assessment is directly linked to the study results, and evaluation principles are set by LUHS Study Regulation and are described in each course description.
Evaluation forms of study subjects or modules can be colloquium, defense of practical work, control work, course work and the project. Upon completion of the subject or module studies, evaluation forms can be exam or the student's independent work (project).
A ten point grading scale for student achievement is applied. The lowest positive score is 5. Summative assessment is used to measure student achievement of the subject (module) studies. The cumulative score is a part of summative evaluation. For the purposes of the cumulative assessment its components are valued by certain results of subject (module) or program of the study.
Cumulative assessment shall be used in accordance with the following principles: cumulative part must make up at least 50 percent of credit or the final grade of exam; cumulative part is calculated on a ten-point scale, i.e. contains sum of grades from 1 to 10 inclusive, and the sum is multiplied by a coefficient corresponding to a cumulative percentage point. Methods of student achievement assessment are provided by teachers, who are preparing of the subject (module) program, prepared strategy of the subject (module) evaluation approved by the program committee. In the course (module) descriptions, the evaluation strategy must be presented and form, terms, criteria as well as percentage of the overall assessment of each evaluation must be predicted.

Professional practice in accordance with the procedures of the professional practice, confirmed by Faculty Council is organized. These procedures defines the practice requirements, the specific practice tasks, expected learning outcomes and achievement evaluation system, support for students during the practice, as well as the criteria that are recognized and evaluated during practice the student to gain relevant level skills.
University propose for students a list of possible practice bases, which is drawn up taking into account the relevant authorities of contracts.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
Taking into account conclusions of Study Quality Assessment Center (2014, 10th June) and international experts (team leader Prof. Dr. Ulf Magnusson, members: prof. Dr. Thomas Wittek, Gediminas Vagonis, Inga Kalpakovaitė; a statement on the study programs of external evaluation 2014-06-10 No. SV5-109) and executed changes in Animal Science Bachelor's degree study program, which were approved by the Senate of LUHS at the meeting in 2016, 25th March (resolution No. 71-09) are carried out quality improvements in Animal Resources Management Master study program.
The lecturers, professors and scientistists of 4 different faculties – Animal Husbandry Technologies, Public Health, Nursing and Medicine are gahtered for improvement of the study quality of Animal Resources Management Master program.
These cooperations was appeared due to the application of assisted animals in therapy and recreational purposes.
The main task of improvements in Animal Resources Management Master program is to upgrade the specialists who are able effectively use the assisted animals in therapy and recreation.
The establishment of such study program was led by a positive approach to applicate the animals in human therapy and recreation of specialists, who works in society, rehabilitation and recreation fields. In Lithuania for such purposes is established Hippotherapy center in Siauliai University and the Dolphin Therapy center in Lithuanian Sea Museum and Cynology scientific and educational training center in LUHS is established. However, in Lithuanian universities are not educated specialists, who are able to organize the breeding, nutrition, care of assisted animals in therapy and recreation and develop harmony interaction between animals and humans.
In developed countries of the world have long been, and in Lithuania - only a few years age was developed and new area of animal (dogs, horses, dolphins, PET animals, etc.) application – assisted animals in therapy. The specialists of canytherapy and hippotherapy, according to the relevant methodologies prepare the animals and can work closely with the patients' treating medical doctors, psychologists or social/special educatiors.
The need of such specialists, who works with assisted animals in therapy will grow, because each year autistic disorder to approximately 300 children, attention deficit/hyperactivity, from several to several tens of thousands and cerebral paralysis over 1,000 of Lithuanian children are diagnosed. These patients can improve wellness by contribution of assisted animals in therapy.

Updating the study program was addressed not only to views expressed by students and graduates, but also the social partners. LUHS Career Center signed agreements with 28 organizations, such as Canytherapy Support Center, JSC “Lithuanian stud”, “Palanga children's rehabilitation sanatorium”, association „Another child“, Kaunas children's rehabilitation center and etc. 11 contracts with public institution "Human search", Lithuanian Sea Museum, JSC Akvatera and etc. will be assigned. LUHS Career Center in cooperation with Animal Science and Animal Resources Management study program committee prepared a questionnaire, which was mailed to 63 companies working in the health care field, producing feed and rearing animals (zoo sales networks, stud farms, factories of compound feed, animal shelters, rehabilitation centers, senior care homes). Companies currently will assign contracts with 10 and in the future with 8 specialists of animal resource management. The need of these specialists will be increased, once the right conditions for the application of animals for therapeutic and recreational will appeared. Also, after completion of Animal Resources Management Master program studies are formed all the conditions to start a private business, providing services to the senior and children's homes, rehabilitation centers, children's camps, recreational businesses.
Graduates, who have acquired Animal Resources Management Master's degree can continue their studies in doctoral studies (PhD), as well as the acquired knowledge to work:
o In the field of application and rearing of assisted animals in therapy;
o At centers of hippotherapy and canytherapy;
o In area of animal’s application in recreation;
o At stud farms;
o As a specialist in animal’s shelters and care homes;
o At universities and scientific research institutions;
o At associations of cynology and felinology;
o As managers in the zoo shops;
o At the State Border Guard Service;
o At the Customs;
o At the Department of Prisons under the Lithuanian Ministry of Justice;
o At the Lithuanian police;
o At the area of compound feed production.
According to the data, presented by LUHS Career Center, 80% - 88% of LUHS graduates employed after 6 months, 12 months or 36 months after graduation in 2011 – 2015. In 2013, the employment of Animal Resource Management Master program’s postgraduates was 90.9% after 12 months of graduation and it was 60% in 2014. In the view of above presented trends, we believe, that graduates of the Animal Resource Management Master's degree program will meet the overall trends of all graduates of LUHS in the field of employment.

Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Animal science study programme‘s student‘s achievements conception is concerted with national and international document‘s content. Europe Parliament and Council‘s reccomendations 2008/C 111/01/EB for students achievement‘s evaluation are adjusted for Europe‘s lifelong learning qualifications union‘s establishmentdėl therefor the evaluation has two aims: to evaluate student‘s progress and final studies results, that are named as predictable studies results in studies programme. Student’s achievements evaluation system’s principles are named in LUHS studies regulations. Accumulative evaluation system is applied in first level’s studies programmes. Discipline’s studies results achievements are evaluated by an exam, practical results achievement’s – by practice defence, whole study programme’s results achievements are evaluated by bachelor’s final thesis, which a student starts to preprare after the studies started, and later present it in public commission. Requirements for bachelor thesis preparation and methodic guidelines are given in animal science studies programmes final thesis preparation’s and defence regulation, that is certified in a session of Animal Husbandry faculty council in 2016 November 9th, No. of report 3 (100). Methodical assistance for lecturers while selecting methods of evaluation is given by university lecturers educational competence centre.

Disciplines of this study programme in first level‘s and extended studies consist 177 ECTS credits, common university disciplines – 15 ECTS credits. In the first year, main disciplines are common university disciplines (introduction to university studies; vernacular language; philosophy; mathematics and informatics) and studies direction‘s disciplines (animal biology; genetics; biochemistry; cell biology; animal morphology and physiology; agronomy). Second year consists of studies direction‘s disciplines (biostatistics; ecology and environment control; forage science; animal nutrition; animal breeding and other disciplines). In the IV semester, in second year, students already choose specialization and start to improve their knowledge in particular specialization. In „Cynology“ specialization: dog‘s nutrition (IV semester), Dog‘s breeds, breeding and appliance (V semester), Dog‘s diseases (VI semester); in „Horse breeding“ specialization: horse‘s nutrition, diseases (IV semester), Horse‘s breeding and training (V semester), Horse‘s reproduction (VI semester); in „Aquiculture“ specialization: bussiness and recreational aquiculture (IV semester), Fish, crustaceans and zooplancton cultivation technologies (V semester), Fish disease (VI semester). In V semester, 3rd year, main disciplines are of studies direction (marketing; animal breeding). VI semester: Animal therapy for patients rehabilitation; Applied health psychology; Animal health.

From IV sewmester student must choose one of the specializations: „Cynology“ ,“Horse breeding“ and „Aquiculture“. Each specialization consists of 23 ECTS credits. In „Cynology“ specialization: dog‘s nutrition, dog‘s breeds, breeding and appliance, dog;s diseases; in „Horse breeding“ specialization: horse‘s nutrition, diseases, breeding and training, horse‘s reproduction; in „Aquiculture“ specialization: bussiness and recreational aquiculture, fish, crustaceans and zooplankton‘s cultivation technologies, fish diseases.
Disciplines of specializations are constituted in sequence, so that a student would improve own knowledge gradually: in disciplines of animal nutrition, breeding, training, reproduction, diseases and rural animal‘s production quality.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
Programmme‘s distinctiveness. Animal science studies programme‘s authenticity is conditioned by the fact that LUHS is the only university preparing agriculture and veterinary direction‘s , animal science specialists. Study programme is unique for for having three specializations: cynology, horse breeding, aquiculture. Programme is designed for developing students knowledge about animals, that are kept for aesthetic and communication requirements, it‘s appliance in recreation, bussiness and other requirements. Studies plan was renewed in 2014. Some of disciplines were unified, some had their content adjusted, and besides that there were some new disciplins created, satying within 20 pct. of main disciplines adjustment from programme inventory. Considering students intentions and expectations SPK permanent and extended Animal science studies had changed disciplines‘ name and content from „Animal production output“ to „Rural animal‘s breeding II“.
Animal science committee transfered discipline „Mathematics and informatics“ (3 ECTS credits) from II year to I year, considering to discipline‘s sequence, and the discipline „Forage science“ (3 ECTS credits) was transfered from I year to II year. SPK had adjusted the content of disciplines, considering studies quality improvement and students intentions: two modules, i.e. „Rural animal‘s breeding I“ (15 ECTS credits) and „Rural animal‘s breeding II (15 ECTS credits) were eliminated and a module „Animal breeding“ (10 ECTS credits) was suggested instead. After suggesting a new module with a lesser count of credits, the rest of 20 ECTS were distributed as following: 5 ECTS credits were added for specializations (from 18 credits for specializations to 23 ECTS credits), the discipline „Applied ecology and animal safety“ was enlarged by 3 ECTS credits (from 6 ECTS credits to 9 ECTS credits) and two new disciplines were involved – „Animal therapy for patients rehabilitation“ (6 ECTS credits) and „Applied health psychology“ (6 ECTS credits).
Committee of studies programme involved more elective disciplines like „Horse‘s breeding technologies“, „Animals and health“ and „World‘s biological variety“, considering to students suggestions that were told during sessions.
There were agreements signed with foreign universitieson animal science committee member‘s and LUHS International relations and studies center initiative, and through these agreements students of animal science study programme now have an opportunity to leave abroad for Erasmus programme studies to such foreign universities and companies as following: Kaposvá University – Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (Hungary); SGGW – Warsaw University of Life Sciences – Faculty of Animal Sciences (Poland); University of Agriculture in Krakow (Poland); The University of Szeged, Faculty of Agriculture (Vengrija); Elmtree dog training and education centre (England).

In AHT programme of full-time and continuous study, 105 ECTS credits are allocated for study field/speciality part. The volume of the study Programme in full-time study equals to that in the continuous study – only the study duration differs. The full- time study lasts 2 years (4 semesters); that of the continuous study – 2.5 yr (5 semesters).
The volume of AHT master’s full-time study (105 ECTS credits) is distributed to compose 60 ECTS credits in the first year, and 45 ECTS credits – in the second, whereas in the continuous study : 45 ECTS credits –in the first year, and in the second study year– 30 ECTS credits, in the third – also 30 ECTS credits.

The number of subjects to be studied in full-time study is not higher than 7 (practice including), whereas study subject volume is not less than 3 ECTS credits. The study scope per one study year (2 semesters) – 60 ECTS credits. The study Programme comprises general university subjects (B) and subjects of study field (S). General university subjects – 9.17% of the programme structure, the study subjects of the main study field – 83.33% and electives – 7.5%.
During the year, full time students study between 10 and 15 subjects/modules, the scope of which is from 3 to 8 ECTS credits. Students’ independent work comprises on average 38 per cent of the scope of every subject. During a year of continuous studies, students study between 4 and 10 subject/modules (scope between 3 and 12 ECTS credits). The amount of 80 per cent of every subject is set for independent work.
For continuous study the mentioned subjects/modules are distributed conforming to the same principles as in full time study, only during a longer period of time: the subjects for basic knowledge – I-III years; speciality subjects – III-VI study years.
In AHT first cycle full time study, students commence formation of practical skills from semester 4 in the study year II, and complete in semester 6, study year III. To form practical skills students apply the acquired theoretical knowledge at LUHS practical centre of training and experimentation, enterprises for feed production, laboratories, Institute of Animal Husbandry, individual farms and others. Total of 22 guided learning hours (15 ETCS credits) are set for formation of practical skills between II and III study years.
In continuous study, students start formation of practical skills in study year IV (7-8 semesters).Total scope comprises 22 guided learning hours (15 ETCS credits). To form practical skills students apply the acquired theoretical knowledge at the same animal husbandry enterprises as full time students.
The knowledge and skills acquired during study process are consolidated at practice. Students obtain theoretical and partial practical knowledge required to perform practice before starting it. Before starting practice activity, the required subjects had already been studied by the students. In the first cycle of full-time animal husbandry technology study, the production practice is executed in the IV year, semester 8 (15 ECTS credits); in the Continuous study – VI year, semester 11 (15 ECTS credits).

The aim of the second cycle programme ‚Food Sciences‘ focus to education of qualified professionals able to implement food research results to food factories, develop new products complying with demands of customers and satisfying needs of healthy nutrition, able manage human resources in the process, organise production process and quickly self-adjusting to continuously changing market.

1.1. Have knowledge about healthy and dietetic nutrition, modern research in food factories, development of new food products complying with demands of modern society and principles of healthy nutrition, organisation of productions of such products and adjustment in the market.

Abilities to determine needs of society to food and nutrition, apply principles and methods of research work, collect data by utilising IT systems and databases and empirical methods, analyse and evaluate results, apply them for development of new food production technologies complying with customer demands, obey principles of research ethics.

The main distinctive feature of this study programme lays on balanced structure and corresponding to the needs of modern market of human resources. The main aspects playing role on the success of career of young professionals focus on the ability to adopt in the labour market, abilities to perform individually and in the teamwork which facilitates development of new food products and raw materials balanced for specific needs of separate consumer groups using innovative knowledge. Due to these reasons, a special attentions has been paid to provision of knowledge related to principles of healthy nutrition and peculiarities of dietetics to young professionals in Food Sciences.

Graduates in master programme Food Sciences will be eligible for employment in food factories (examples of occupied positions – master of production, quality manager, professional in factory laboratory, technologist, supervisor of product development section, etc.). Due to knowledge and experiences in food quality and safety, graduates will be eligible for positions in state services at ministries, municipalities and counties where specific knowledge in food safety and quality is required. Masters in Food Sciences will be able to seek for career in the Chamber of Agriculture, various farmer organisations and other bodies related to the production of food products and raw materials, its safety and quality assurance, also involved to lifelong learning activities related to food chain. Based on broad understanding of food related issues they will be able establish private business, become stakeholders or be employed in private sector.

• apply the latest scientific knowledge in the development of innovative raw materials and products, applying the principles of sustainable production as well as assessing the impact of their production process on society and the environment;
