General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare a qualified specialist capable of supervising, installing and administering computer systems and networks, ensuring information security, documentation of changes, providing technical and methodological assistance to users of computer systems, capable to study independently, work individually or in a team in order to achieve personal and professional development
Learning outcomes:
1. To explain mathematical methods, concepts and solutions of Informatics Engineering sciences related to computer operation, hardware and software, and their practical applications
2. To explain the principles of algorithm formation, understand the specifications of information systems, principles of human-computer interaction, and security assurance
3. To comply with the principles and rules of legal regulation and social responsibility of Informatics Engineering specialist activities
4 To apply knowledge for the installation and maintenance of software and hardware, solving problems related to the operation of computer systems
5. To explain the structure of computer equipment, its operating principles and application for solving information systems technology problems
6. To collect data and use it to solve specialized professional problems
7. To apply Informatics Engineering methods to solve problems encountered in organizations
8. To plan installation works, set installation priorities, select software and hardware to solve problems, while ensuring infrastructure security
9. To install software and hardware, to carry out its maintenance and expansion, to ensure the preparation of documentation

Activities of teaching and learning:
Lecture, workshop, consultation, self-study task, team work, project development and practice.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Assessment is carried out during the whole semester and at the exam session. Ten-point criteria-based assessment system as well as cumulative assessment is applied. Outcomes of the study subject are evaluated through interim assessments during the semester (control tasks, written quizzes, examinations (theoretical and practical tasks), laboratory, individual works defense and etc.). The studies of every subject end with an examination or assessment of student's self-study work (project, practical activity evaluation, etc.). Student's knowledge and skills are assessed at the exam session only after student completes the assigned interim assessment tasks during the semester. Final assessment (mark) consists of marks for interim assessments and an examination (defense) mark. Its composition is calculated according to the ratios intended in the description of the subject.
