General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To train a tourism, hospitality, and wellness manager capable of managing the functional activities of tourism, hospitality and wellness sector companies, analysing and assessing the business environment, creating and selling competitive tourism, hospitality and wellness products, applying the knowledge necessary for professional activity, acting independently and creatively in changing market conditions, communicating professionally and responsibly in a multi-cultural business environment.
Learning outcomes:
1. Able to apply the basic theories and principles of economics, management, and managing finance and other resources in professional activities.
2. Acts in accordance with the legislation governing company activities in the tourism and hospitality sector.
3. Applies the conceptions and principles of sustainable development and responsible business in professional activities.
4. Able to conduct research on the business environment and service market in the tourism sector applying the methods chosen; systemise and assess research findings.
5. Analyses the business environment, the changes taking place in it, innovations in the methods and technologies of providing tourism and hospitality services and the possibilities of their application.
6. Able to plan the activities of a tourism and hotel sector company and its divisions, anticipating the need for human, financial, and other resources, and their sources.
7. Develops and presents a competitive tourism product.
8. Able to organise the activities of a tourism and hotel sector company and its divisions by defining employees’ functions and responsibilities and anticipating the systems and principles of assessing and monitoring the performance.
9. Communicates responsibly and professionally with the participants in the market, applying the principles and rules of business communication and considering intercultural peculiarities.
10. Independently develops professional and personal skills considering the constantly changing professional environment and market needs and demonstrating responsibility for the impact of the performance and its results.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Lectures, seminars, discussions, debates, individual and group practical exercises, self-written papers, video views, open to the public the results of presentations, workshops plants, design and research works, case (problem situations) analysis, preparation of articles, integrated tasks.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The System of Accumulative Assessment is used. Methods of assessment: individual/group integrated projects or/and course/ research papers, tests, reports, exams, report on a case study and its presentation, report on a video situation and its presentation, project report, presentation of individual assignments, portfolio method, individual/group integrated self-study assignment, observation of a task performance, project group presentation, presentation of individual self-study assignments, final thesis.

Study subjects (modules), practical training:
General module of Collegial studies – 15 credits:
Tourism Economics (Basics of Tourism Economics; Applied Mathematics and Statistics; Basics of Applied Tourism Research).
Study field modules - 150 credits:
1. Study modules (105 credits): Business Communication (Business Language and Public Speaking; Basics of Document and IT Management; Communication Psychology; Professional English I); Intercultural Communication (Cultural Heritage; Intercultural Communication; Travel Geography; Tourism Anthropology); Business Management (Management; Marketing; Accounting and Finance); Basics of Tourism and Hospitality (Tourism Services and Infrastructure; Tourism Resources in Lithuania; Environment and Human Safety;2nd Foreign Language (Russian/German/French)); Basics of Law and Entrepreneurship (Business Law; Creativity and Entrepreneurship; Professional English II), study modules in Tourism Management /Hotel Management / Wellness and SPA Management specialisations.
2. Practical training (15 credits): Professional Internship I (15 Credits).
3. Final Thesis (Final Internship, Final Project) (30 Credits).
Specialisations:
Tourism Management (30 credits): Tourism Management I (Tour Operator Activities; Tourism Marketing; Excursions Organization Methodology and Technologies; 2nd Foreign Language (Russian/German/French)), Tourism Management II (Travel Sales; Destination Management; Tourism Technologies; Sustainable Tourism).
Hotel Management (30 credits): Hotel Management I (Hotel Management 1, Hospitality Marketing, Social Responsibility; Organization of Catering Services; 2nd Foreign Language (Russian/German/French)), Hotel Management II (Hotel Management II; Yield Management; Social Media; Sustainability in Hospitality).
Wellness and SPA Management (30 credits): Wellness Services (Wellness and SPA Services; Basics of Wellness and Resort Science; Marketing of Wellness Services; 2nd Foreign Language (Russian/German/French)); Spa Services Management (Management of Accommodation Provision Processes in the SPA Sector; Management of Wellness Services Provision Processes in the SPA Sector; Organization of Catering Services in the SPA Sector; Sustainable SPA Business).
Optional courses:
Students can choose:
● One of the Specialisations (30 credits);
● 2nd Business Foreign Language (Russian, German, French);
● One of free elective modules (15 credits), e.g.
Sustainability and Travel, Wellness and Health Quality, Russian Language and Culture, Active Leisure Organisation, French and Spanish Language and Culture, Personality and Career, etc.
Distinctive features of a study programme:
• Study programme is based on the modular principle that allows to ensure the interdisciplinary of studies, flexible learning environment, enhance the student’s role in the study process, encourage his/her independence, activeness, responsibility for one’s learning outcomes, integrate the practical and self-study assignments.
• Double degree study programme with LAB University of Applied Sciences (Finland);
• The teachers working for the study programme have experience in tourism business, participation in international projects, expert and consulting activities.
• Innovative study methods as well as the main software packages used in business are applied during study process;
• Wide possibilities for studying and practical training abroad;
• Possibility to choose instruction language (Lithuanian or English).
• Students of the programme will study in a higher school or perform practice in business company abroad for one semester.

Access to professional activity:
Depending on specialization, graduates will be ready to work in hotels and other hospitality companies, travel agencies, tourism information centres and other institutions providing tourism services as well as managers in wellness business companies, state institutions providing wellness services, sanatoriums, spa, wellness and rehabilitation centers, physical therapy clinics, leisure and recreation complexes; they will be able to start and develop their own business.
Access to further study:
The graduates are entitled to a credit transfer system for entering level one university study programmes, they can choose Master programmes. The continuation of studies is possible in the study programmes in the field of tourism and leisure, management, business in Lithuanian and/or foreign universities.
