Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare competitive, well-qualified electric power engineering specialists being able to work individually and apply the latest technological knowledge and solve professional problems in the field of electric power.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge and its application:
Will know general regularities and laws of natural sciences and mathematics in order to understand the fundamental basics of Energy engineering study field.
Will know the most important concepts of Energy engineering study field, will be able to understand their content.
Will have the key knowledge in Energy engineering study field that are important in practice.
Will know the context of problems and their solutions of adjacent study fields.
Will be able to apply knowledge for solving problems of Energy engineering study fields and creatively apply familiar methods.
Will be able to apply knowledge analysing engineering tasks, will be able to choose the right methods experimental and manufacturing facilities to tackle them.
Will be able to apply analytical and modelling methods for solution of engineering problems in Energy engineering study field.
Competences to carry out research:
Will be able to find proper professional information using data bases and other scientific and engineering information resources. Will be able to carry out necessary tests for solving engineering problems, process their results and present practical conclusions of these results. Will have skills to operate the equipment used in Energy engineering study field.

Will be able to select engineering solutions, as well as means and equipment needed to implement them. Will be able to combine theoretical and applied knowledge while solving engineering issues. Will understand ethical, environmental and commercial considerations of engineering activity. Will be able to understand operational principles of engineering activity, will know the main requirements for human safety and fire safety. Will be able to apply engineering knowledge while formulating and carrying out the design tasks in accordance with the laid down requirements. Will understand and be able to apply various design methodology.

Will be able to solve engineering challenges individually and in a team. Will know how to communicate with engineering specialists and the general public.

Will comprehend the importance of the impact of engineering decisions on society and environment, will obey the norms of professional ethics and engineering activities, understand responsibility for the results of engineering activities.
Will be aware of the main aspects of project implementation and management on the level of engineering activities.
Will comprehend the importance of individual lifelong learning and will prepare for it.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Lectures, consultations, practical tasks and course papers, individual work, practices of professional activities. Students accomplish practical tasks individually or in groups.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The student‘s knowledge, skills and abilities acquired while studying subjects of a study programme are assessed after completing of individual assignments performed during the semester and exam session. The achieved learning outcomes after completion of subject/module studies are assessed attributing them to the levels of achievement: excellent, typical and threshold.

Foreign Language, Professional Lithuanian, Environmental and Human Safety and alternatively optional subjects (Sociology, Psychology, Professional Ethics – selected one of them).

Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Electrical Engineering Materials, Information Technologies, Engineering Graphics, Mechanics, Electric Circuit Analysis, Electronics, Electrical Measurements, Electromechanical Converters, Fundamentals of Automation and Controllers, Power Stations and Substations, Theory of Economics, Design Management, Economics of Enterprises, Applied Research, Electric Network and Systems, Electrical Equipment, Electrical Drives, Mounting of Electrical Equipment, Renewable Sources Energetics, Intelligent Electric Systems, High Voltage Technique, Relay Protection and Automation, Lightning Protection.
Special Study Subjects:
Law, optional subjects by choice of students (History of Energetics, Electricity Market, Nuclear Energy, Power Electronics, Car Control Systems, Information Transmission Systems, Light Technique, Wind Power Energy, Geothermal Energy – selected three of them).
Practices:
Practical Training, Electrical Equipment Mounting Practice, Industrial Practice, Technological Practice, Final Practice.
Completion of Studies:
Studies are completed by defending the Final work individually prepared by a student.
Distinctive features of a study programme:
Students of the study programme obtain knowledge in management of electric power supply systems, systems of distributed generation, relay protection and automation, intelligent electricity systems, electrical power, economics and market they also learn to control modern systems of energetics, to recognise, understand and evaluate problems of electric power and to prosole the ways to tackle them. They are able to plan and design real electric power objects .Students take part in projects of experimental development as well as in international exchange programme Erasmus+:go to study or for professional activities internships to the other countries of European Union.
Access to professional activity or further study:
Specialist, having graduated from Electric Power Engineering study programme can work in state and private electrical power enterprises, that design electric network, are engaged in electric power production, transfer, distribution and consuming activities, can establish his/her own business.
Graduate can continue his/her studies having chosen university study programmes in the field of Energy Engineering.
