Summary of the Profile

Paramedic Modular Vocational Training Programme is designed to prepare a qualified paramedic who is physically and psychologically prepared to provide the services of complex human body assessment and first aid, emergency medical care as well as to apply preventive medical measures and medical care in case of emergency individually and in a team with other personal health care professionals. While providing competence-based services, apply safe lifting and transportation methods grounded on the evidence of medical science and practice in the Republic of Lithuania, except in cases provided for in other legal acts. The programme includes six compulsory modules: Complex Human Body Assessment and Communication, First Aid, Emergency Medical Assistance, Patient Transportation, Preventive Medicine, Emergency Medical Services. Programmes of the modules include both theoretical and practical training. The competences assessed include: recognizing acute conditions and traumas of a patient; providing emergency medical care in case of acute conditions and traumas; preparing and transporting the patient; cooperating and collaborating with the patient, the team and family members.
