General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To train professional in finance, who understand the functioning of the financial system, are able to manage the finances of an entity by using information and communication technologies, capable of collecting, classifying and analysing information for financial decision-making, communicating on professional issues in the state and foreign languages, seeking for constant self-improvement in changing environment.
Learning outcomes:
1. Understands and knows the basic peculiarities of application of economics, management, finance and accounting sciences in the practical field of finance.
2. Knows and understands the functioning of the financial system, applies the principles and methods of financial management in the activities of the organization.
3. Able to collect, analyse and summarize the economic and financial information of the organization.
4. Able to apply modern information and communication technologies and solutions to professional activities.
5. Able to analyse and assess the financial state of the organisation, its performance and risks.
6. Able to draft the financial documents of the organization and ensure financial control of its activities.
7. Able to makes proposals on funding, investment and cash flow management issues.
8. Able to provide financial information to internal and external users using modern technologies
9. Able to communicate in professional environment in Lithuanian and foreign languages with colleagues, business partners and clients.
10. Able to express thoughts responsibly and critically, identify and solve problems.
11. Realizes the moral and professional responsibility for the impact of personal performance on the organization, society and environment.
12. Gains new knowledge in professional advancement; works independently and creatively.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Lectures, seminars, discussions, debates, individual and group practical exercises, self-written papers, video views, open to the public the results of presentations, workshops plants, design and research works, case (problem situations) analysis, preparation of articles, integrated tasks.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Promoting student motivation, coherent, continuous work during their studies the System of Accumulative Assessment. Methods of assessment: individual/group integrated projects or/and course paper, control works, report on a case study and its presentation reports, preparation and delivery of presentation, reports, presentation of practical work, project group presentation, presentation of individual assignments, final thesis.

General study module - 15 credits:
Economics (Applied Mathematics, Economic Statistics, Microeconomics and Macroeconomics).
Study field modules - 150 credits:

Applied Communication (Professional Foreign Language I, Professional Communication, Information and Communication Technologies), Basics of Speciality (Basics of Applied Research, Basics of Finances, Basics of Accounting), Finance (Personal Finance, Public Finance, International Finance), Areas of Financial Performance (Financial Markets and Institutions, Financial Information Systems, Financial Accounting 1), Analysis and Audit (Economic Analysis of Company Performance, Financial Analysis, Audit, Financial Accounting 2), Business Organization and Taxes (Taxes), Company Finance Management (Company Finance, Investment Management, Finance Planning and Forecasting, Professional Foreign Language II); Optional Modules: Project Management (Enterprise Economics, Project Arrangement, Business Law)/ Business Organization (Business Creation and Development, Marketing, Management).
3. Practical Training (34 credits): Speciality Basics’ Internship (4 credits), Business Organization and Finance Analysis Internship (BI) (9 credits), Final Professional Internship (21 credits).

Distinctive features of a study programme:
The programme reflects the market needs; is based on a module principle that allows ensuring the interdisciplinary of studies, flexible learning environment, enhancing the role of the student in the study process, encouraging his independence, activity, responsibility for the study results, integrating the practical and self-study assignments; performing one semester internship in companies and organizations. The programme is orientated towards problem teaching, formation of the systemic approach for the student, socially responsible and ethical business. The study programme teachers are specialists with the practical experience. Students can study and practice abroad using the various funds, bilateral agreements; Also students can participate in international training intensive programs (IP).
Access to professional activity or further study:
Access to professional activity:
A graduate can work as financier, accountant, financial manager in companies or organisations, financial institutions, financial departments of public institutions, tax inspectorate. After gaining some experience, they can work as financial analysts and managers of financial departments, will be able to establish and develop own business.
Access to further study:
The graduates are entitled to a credit transfer system for entering level one university study programmes, they can choose Master programmes. The continuation of studies is possible in the study programmes in the field of management, business, economics, finance and accounting in Lithuanian and/or foreign universities.
