General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
Aim of the study program – to develop
skilled applied photography
professionals with professional applied
photographic knowledge and ability to:
apply creative knowledge and skills in
professional activities; adapt to the
rapidly changing digital technology;
provide professional applied
photographic services in Lithuanian and
foreign photo studios, advertising
agencies, press and electronic media;
television, cinema and other audiovisual
creative industries, in project artistic
activities, to work independently in
individual activities.
Learning outcomes:
A1. Understanding the contexts,
concepts and contemporary trends in the
history of art and photography,
perception of the importance of using
innovations, knowing the methods of
developing different genres of
photography, and ability to apply them
to the development of the content of
photography and other media.
A2. Understanding the importance of
visual communication in contemporary
market conditions, knowing the
methods of self-promotion and their
methods of application, understanding
the principles and importance of ethical
behavior in the media, acquires
knowledge about intellectual property
law, project management, principles and
concepts of advertising theory and
practice, understanding market research
and project preparation methods.
Acquired knowledge is capable of
applying in professional activities.
A3.Having special knowledge about
analog and digital photography
techniques and processes, their
applicability, knowing how to use
composite expressions and tools,
knowing about the rapid development
of digital technologies and ability to
adapt to new trends.
Ability to apply the knowledge to create
a photographic and / or audiovisual
product.
B1. Ability to conduct creative research
in the field of photography, collecting
and structuring data, analyze and
summarize the collected information
and make reasoned conclusions, on the
basis of the basis of performed photo
and video projects.
B2. Ability to select targeted analogs
and inspirational sources that are
consistent with trends and help to make
innovative decisions in professional
activities.
C1. By knowing the methods of
developing different genres of
photography, using analog and digital
photography techniques, the purpose of
choosing photographic optics and
lighting technique is the ability to create
high-quality photographic and other
media content. Using photographic
editing skills, ability to work well with
photo editing and video editing
software, is capable of providing quality
photo and digital content to the public.
C2.By mastering the stages of creative
project implementation, ability to create
and generate a creative idea of the
project and to professionally fulfill the
photographic content.
C3. Depending on the peculiarities of
different photographic genres, ability to
make a meaningful choice of the latest
technological solutions and the
necessary media. Ability to bring
human resources, organize teamwork
and personal work during photo
sessions.
D1. Ability to think critically and
professionally solve problems. Ability
to communicate with clients,
colleagues, audience in an intercultural
context, and to formulate and
comprehensively present the idea,
concept of the project.
D2. Ability to organize the work
process by planning their own and all
team activities, choosing specialists,
implementing a joint creative project,
and assuming responsibility for the
quality of team work. Oriented on the
conditions and needs of today's market.
Ability to purposefully choose visual
means of expression, to comply with
intellectual property, copyright norms
and professional ethics.
E1. Developing self-esteem criteria,
critical thinking, developer's
responsibility and ability to continue to
learn independently are developed.
Responsible for the results of his
creative work, perceived responsibility
in the public sphere for the distribution
of his work, and the impact of
photography on the society, the cultural
and economic environment.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Learning outcomes-based applied
photography studies in teaching and
learning activities are focused on
student self-expression, independent
and life-long learning. The study
process introduces innovative methods
of study organization and activity. The
study process is realized by combining
different forms of teaching and learning
(lectures, seminars, practical
assignments, project work, exhibitions,
discussions, team work, individual work
independent work, presentation
interview, stuation analysis, analysis of
documents, analogues, literature
sources, reflection). Studies focus on
the implementation of communication
and cooperation, independent work,
teamwork, critical thinking and creative
thinking.
