Summary of the Profile of study programme
General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The aim of the visual design program is to develop visual design specialists who have acquired the relevant general and subject competences, enabling them to work creatively and independently in various discipleship and interdisciplinary contexts of visual design and media through various techniques and tools.
Learning outcomes:
Program graduate will be able:
1. To describe the essential features of visual design and other visual arts branches development, artefacts, social - cultural contexts, processes.
2. To know about traditional (monotype, silkscreen, engraving, engraving, etc.) and new (photo-polymer, digital technologies, photography, animation, etc.) visual design technologies, their coherence and various possibilities of their use (visual communication, design of the publication, poster art, computer games and cinema, etc.)
3. To gain the skills of visual design management, media psychology knowledge and cultural projects.
4. To apply various methods of artistic research in creative works and projects.
5. To generate original ideas, concepts and visual artistic solutions for experimentation.
6. To analyze visual design processes, contexts and technological possibilities, and to reflect professionally, reasonably and ethically.
Framework:
Study subjects (modules), practical training:
Subjects in the field of study - 126 credits, for practical courses - 18 credits, for the final project - 18 credits, electives - 12 credits. The main areas of study in the field of study credits are 48. Subjects in the main study field:
Module I: Traditions and contexts of visual design, Visual design artefacts: Vilnius, Visual design artefacts: St. Petersburg, Visual design artefacts: Florence, Visual design artefacts: Athens / Luxor, II Module: Basics of Contemporary Design, Design History, Media Psychology, Basics of Entrepreneurship.

Graduates will be able to work in the computer graphics, animation industry, film industry, comics, magazines, and book illustrations in the graphic design sector, and graduates are also likely to combine their professional career with work in other fields of culture (e.g., cultural events management), while actively creating, participating in the exhibition life and art galleries.
