General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The main aim is to prepare professionals who can integrate innovative interdisciplinary knowledge through systematic thinking and creatively implement it in physical activity and sports practice while creating public welfare; to take leadership and seek new career challenges in a global society.
Learning outcomes:
Has the most recent knowledge of the subject area, including knowledge of educational theories, and trends in educational development, necessary for professional activities and scientific research.
Knows the regularities of human physical and mental development, changes in the functioning of the body's functional systems during physical activity and recovery and is able to plan and organize physical activity and/or sports training considering them.
Is able to conduct complex and/or multi-disciplinary research, connect, systematize, and critically evaluate data and results
Based on research results and conclusions, is able to prepare recommendations for education and sports politicians, administrators, community, as well as to initiate discussions and changes in education and training practices.
Is able to systematically and critically analyse and evaluate concepts and theories of physical activity and sports pedagogy, to combine interdisciplinary knowledge, relate it to educational policy decisions, management of complex educational situations, problem solving and/or introducing innovations systematically and critically.
Is able to perceive new educational, sports policy and business needs, demands and, based on these insights and interdisciplinary knowledge, to create and implement physical activity and sports programs, projects, events, responding to the interests and needs of learners, as well as recognizing the diversity of learners, the diversity of roles of participants in the learning process.
Is able to take leadership, lead a group and/or team, to advise and train another group and/or team participants, take responsibility for the quality of own and team members' performance, and evaluation and improvement of this performance.
Is able to work productively in a national and international group and/or team, to respond promptly to a changing environment and solve emerging challenges.
Is able to think systematically and strategically, to make innovative proposals for the sake of public welfare and solving educational and training problems.
Has clearly expressed values of continuous learning, respect for the learner, professional identity, commitment to the professional community, initiation, and active participation in educational change processes.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Problem-based learning, Scientific paper analysis, Case analysis (Case study), Discussion, Field trips/works visits, Group work, Idea (mind) mapping, Modelling of real-life (world) situations (projects), Practical exercises (tasks), Scientific paper analysis.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Ten grade and gathered evaluation system is applied. The semester’s individual work tasks (Group (team) project, Individual work, Literature reviewing and presentation, Problem-solving task, Reflection on action, Test) are evaluated by grades; the final grade is given during the examination session while multiplying particular grades by the lever coefficient and summing the products.

Access to professional activity:
After completion of the Programme and acquisition Master of Science (MSc) in Education, graduates are ready for scientific research or pedagogical activity in different state and private institutions of education and sports. They can also strive for career, applying their vocational and general competences.
Access to further study:
After completion of this Programme graduates may continue their studies in doctoral study programmes.
