General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To provide deep knowledge of digital culture theories, form abilities to shape theoretical problems of digital culture and find the ways to solve them through scientific research; to teach how to creatively apply theoretical knowledge and practical abilities in professional activity and cultivate the abilities of continuous self-improvement. To prepare for doctoral studies.

Knowledge and its Application:
A1 Knows and understands the concepts of digital culture, modern trends and theoretical paradigms of digital culture, the methodology of digital culture analysis.
A2 Knows and understands models and methods of digital culture application: models of culture and communication evaluation as well as innovation implementation in cultural processes.
A3 Understands principles of media influence on society and science.
A4 Knows and understands the methodology of research in humanities.
Research Skills:
B1 Is able to find and select appropriate information sources, methods of information collection and analysis; use modern information technologies collecting, structuring, analysing and evaluating relevant data for studies and/or professional activities.
B2 Is able to systematically evaluate undefined cultural situation, determine success factors of philosophical analysis, and organise processes of scientific research.
B3 Is able to understand the nature of interdisciplinary research and its principles as well as a possibility to harmonize methods of various disciplines through philosophical perspective.
B4 Is able to assess ethical consequences of research and its results.
B5 Is able to think strategically and evaluate expectations and consequences of scientific decisions.
Subject–Specific Skills:
C1 Is able to solve complex tasks of digital culture in the new and unfamiliar environment combining knowledge of several disciplines.
C2 Is able to apply and reflect on knowledge in developing new technological, methodical, informational, organizational-managerial measures required for organizing and conducting empirical research, studies, professional performance and innovations development.
C3 Is able to apply information communication technologies for information search, analysis, visualization, development of digital culture research, modelling of cultural processes.
C4 Is able to evaluate diversity and importance of communication and interpersonal relations in digital culture, to reconcile the different interests according to the principles of ethics.
C5 Is able to make ethical and socially responsible digital culture decisions, develop strategies, programs and projects, and forecast results in the continuously changing environment of mediated culture.

Activities of teaching and learning:
Materials of the study module is gained both by activity in face-to face classes, tutorials, seminars and individual work. Activity during face-to-faces meetings includes lectures, group research and practical work. Individual work is comprised by study of theoretical material, preparation for lectures, group research and practical work, midterms and exam. It also includes preparation of homework, projects and other activities.
Modern teaching and learning methods are applied: problem based learning, design thinking, case method, evidence based learning, projects with real organizations, etc.
Study programme is accomplished by final degree project.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Knowledge, abilities and skills, that the student will acquire during the course of the programme, are graded and registered to databases twice: during the evaluation of the student‘s independent work (positive or negative grade) and during the exam session (grade in ten-point scale). Adequate study result assessment is applied: tests, essays, group-work, projects with presentations, case analysis, etc.
The final degree project is defended in the public session of the studies’ branch qualification committee.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
A graduate has fundamental knowledge of digital culture, understands the development of digital culture theory and its connection to other sciences, is able to analyse and critically assess textual materials, form problems and provide argumentation, understands the link between digital culture and society, and is able to apply the approach of comparative analysis as well as compare digital media from a philosophical perspective. The graduate is able to perceive social and cultural consequences of digital culture impact and forecast the development of digital media trends.
