General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
Upon completion of the study programme of General Practice Nursing, the graduate will be able independently or in a team to organise and implement patient-centred care and education in a quality, socially responsible manner, to assess the effectiveness of nursing care, to protect and care for patients' health, to co-operate with other institutions and with other members of the personal healthcare team in a scientifically oriented manner, and will be able to develop his/her own intrinsic competence in order to cope with the change of the professional life in the field of nursing, by applying the innovative technology.
Learning outcomes:
Assess human structure, physiological functions and behaviour in nursing care. Link knowledge about the state of health, physical and social environment in support of the nursing care. To support the evidence-based identification of nursing needs, the development of a plan, the selection of interventions, the evaluation of outcomes and the adjustment of the steps in the nursing process to achieve quality nursing care. Conducting applied research to address specific problems in nursing and innovation. Identify care needs, plan and independently organise care for patients, families and communities of all ages and health conditions. Perform nursing interventions for the patient, family or community in a variety of clinical situations and preventive services. Assess patient, family or community care outcomes according to criteria that are consistent with international and national legislation, standards of nursing practice approved by healthcare institutions and science-based innovations. Initiate emergency medical care in large-scale crises and disasters applying life-saving nursing interventions. Provide support and advice in linking the acquired knowledge of nursing sciences education and psychology to people in need of healthcare and their carers. Empowering individuals, families and community groups to manage health problems by assessing the impact of lifestyle and environmental risk factors on health. Collaborate with representatives of health and other sectors in a professional ethical and team-working manner. Demonstrate effective dissemination of information related to personal, family and community health in the healthcare sector using innovative technologies and methods. Evaluate person-centred care, including cross-cultural differences, according to the criteria lost to the individual. Demonstrate the opportunities of e-health and information technologies in nursing care. Make socially responsible decisions according to of science-based practice and changes in professional activities. Disclose the role of nurse to patient autonomy, rights and safety.
