General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare high qualification economic specialists capable of performing scientific research works independently , who have assimilated modern and relevant economic theories and methods; capable of renewing this knowledge on a regular basis and applying it in different activity.
Learning outcomes:
1. Has comprehensive knowledge in the area of economic sciences, also has satisfactory knowledge of the expanded terminology area of modern economic sciences,
2. Has good knowledge of economic or public structures and institutions,
3. Has good knowledge of economic relations and regularity of their management,
4. Has knowledge of the types of social and economic relationships and the congruence emerging between them; also has more profound knowledge in the area of the selected categories of social and economic relationships,
5. Has good knowledge of a man as a creator and active participant of economic structures, as well as the ways of their functioning,
6. Has comprehensive knowledge in the field of description methods and means characteristic of the disciplines of economic sciences, receipt of data, analysis and presentation technique, also in the field of modelling economic structures,
7. Has comprehensive knowledge on standards and rules (including, legal, organisational, ethical),
8. Has comprehensive knowledge of changes in the selected types of objects, enterprises and economic structures, as well as the regularity of managing these processes,
9. Has comprehensive knowledge on viewpoints towards of the selected type objects, enterprises and economic structures, as well as categories of the selected economic relationships and their historical evolution,
10. Knows and understands the key concepts and rules of industrial property and the protection of copyright, as well as the necessity of managing the intellectual property resources,
11. Knows the main rules of creating ad developing individual business forms using knowledge of the discipline of economic science,
12. May use the knowledge acquired in the respective area of economic science in practice and research works, also is able to analyse critically the suitability and efficiency of knowledge used in practice,
13. Has excellent skills to prepare any paperwork in the discipline of economic science,
14. Has excellent skills in preparing oral reports on the discipline of economic science,
15. Is able, making reference to the discipline of economic science, to precisely interpret and explain economic phenomena and processes, as well as relationships among them,
16. May use theoretical knowledge in describing and analysing economic phenomena and the causes and course of processes; may also formulate his pinion and choose data and methods of the analysis of the discipline of economic science in a critical way,
17. May accordingly analyse the processes and causes of economic and social phenomena, formulate an opinion on this topic, as well as to apply simple research hypothesis of the discipline of economic science and to verify them,
18. May forecast and simulate sophisticated economic phenomena and processes using progressive methods and means of the discipline of economic science,
19. May use normative systems and selected standards and rules (in law, ethics, professional, etc.) in solving economic problems; has broad skills in using these standards in the economic science,
20. Uses knowledge acquired in the economic sciences in complementary areas by offering solutions and independently solving specific problems,
21. May analyse economic phenomena and may adapt research methods in the discipline of economic science theoretically for comprehensive evaluation of these phenomena,
22. Knows the level of his knowledge and skills, understands the necessity of professional and personal improvement with consideration to the dynamics of market and social processes taking place in the world; may inspire and organise the leaning process of other persons,
23. May work in a group by performing different roles in them, especially the leader’s role,
24. May set priorities accordingly used for implementing his own and the group’s objectives ,
25. May precisely identify and solve dilemmas related with activeness in the social and economic environment, as well as the performance of duties,
26. Is prepared to participate in the preparation of social projects, as well as to foresee multi-directional consequences of such activeness
27. May independently and critically supplement and improve the acquired knowledge and skills by expanding them at the inter-disciplinary scale,
28. Demonstrates the position of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship by enhancing social and economic activeness.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Innovative teaching and learning methods are applied in lectures and practical training, e.g. e-learning. Independent student-centred work based on tasks, team work, where problem and critical thinking becomes manifest. Students are provided with an educational environment where they have a possibility to control their study process, to reflect on activity, to foster creativity and innovation while participating in research activities. The programme is aimed at active participation of students in the study process: during lectures it is sought to create a discussion environment; during practical training and while writing a diploma paper the student is fostered to formulate a thesis and conclusions; a dialog between the teacher and the student is sought in order to avoid a monolog teaching method.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
An assessment of the learning outcomes is a part of the study process. It consists of the assessment of practical training and the assessment of theoretical knowledge during an examination. An assessment of the learning outcomes of a subject takes place during the whole semester and at the time of the examination session. By applying accumulation assessment, learning outcomes are evaluated through interim assessments. An interim assessment is made with consideration to students’ activeness during training, implemented task, or knowledge and abilities acquired after completing partial studies of a particular subject (colloquiums, tests, practical works, paperwork, etc.). Before taking an examination a student has to pass a credit test in practical training. During an examination session, all knowledge and abilities acquired by the student are assessed. The student’s knowledge and abilities are assessed during the examination session only when he/she has fulfilled the requirements and tasks prescribed for the interim assessment in the description of a subject. The student’s knowledge and abilities are assessed during an examination on a 2 -5 point scale. The final grade consists of the grades of interim assessments, grades of examinations and practical training.

It is possible to choose the specialisation Functioning and Development of Modern Economy , which consists of 16 ECTS credits: Methods of Economic Research, Dynamics of the World Economy.
It is possible to choose the specialisation An Enterprise in the Market, which consists of 16 ECTS credits: Enterprise Economics, Strategic Management, International Marketing, Enterprise Financial Management
Distinctive features of a study programme:
The study programme is focused on boosting entrepreneurship in modern economic, the development of professional special competences, the development of broad general abilities, ethnic and value attitudes, provision with competences necessary for the today’s economics based on knowledge conveyance and acceptance, its analysis, critical assessment, and search for problem solutions.
The study programme is implemented in the foreign language - Polish.

The acquired qualification grants the right to a graduate of the economic programme to engage in independent economic activity, to work in the field of company management, different state and non-state enterprises, both in the domestic and international market.
Access to further study:
On completion of the programme the graduates will be able to continue study in PhD studies, in the area of social sciences, in the field of economic science.
