Objectives
Educate highly qualified sports professionals and entrepreneurs who would be able to make high-level analysis of sports performance basing on the state-of-the-art knowledge in sports science and apply their skills in the areas of professional and recreational sport.
Learning Outcomes
The graduate will:
Understand the principles of sports performance analysis based on science theory and know the basic methods.
Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills necessary for scientific research in the selected areas of sports performance analysis.
Plan, conduct and present scientific research, apply innovative scientific ideas in solving the problems of sports performance analysis, develop IT and technological innovations, and develop sports performance and technologies business.
Analyse scientific literature.
Generate ideas for scientific research and apply them in creative manner.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative biomechanical analysis of movement techniques.
Analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of movement techniques.
Conduct the analysis of game tactics and strategy, movement efficiency and physical capacity, risk of traumas.
Analyse and evaluate the decision making process of sports arbiters and referees.
Analyse and evaluate the performance of sport coaches.
Analyse psychological aspects of sports performance, such as aggression and attention concentration.
Be able to apply the analysis of movement technique in individual and team sports and recreational sport.
Effectively communicate and present the findings of sports performance analysis to academic community and the general public.
Effectively apply the principles of communication and collaboration in scientific and social environment.
Be able to make responsible and reasonable decisions while leading groups of experts and research teams.
Be able to develop personally and professionally, look for innovative solutions in sports and business.
Teaching and learning methods
Interactive lecture, movie watching, brainstorming, group discussion, debates, problem-based learning, independent writing of analytical papers, essay, presentation making, projects, training in groups and individually, observation etc.
