Summary of the Profile

General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The aim of the study programme is to
educateprofessional visual theatre
actors, able to: creatively apply the
knowledge acquired and basics of
acting/performing techniques and stage
action development in various stage art
genres when working both individually
and in a group; execute artistic research
in the relevant area, which supports the
expediency and value of a stage project;
understand the specifics of
development/creation of a performance
and paratheatrical activities and be able
to implement acting-related assignments
upon development and execution of a
performance/play or event-related
concept, interact with theatre
professionals and experts of other fields
of art upon implementation of creative
theatrical innovations and be able to
take responsibility for one’s own
professional creative activity, develop
independent learning, critical and
creative thinking skills as well as
entrepreneurial competencies on a
constant basis.
Learning outcomes:
A1. Understand the specifics of a role
creation, means of visual theatre
expression on stage and ability to
creatively apply them upon creation of
roles.
A2. Knowledge of the main stages of
evolution, relevant to theatre and drama
and ability to properly apply the
knowledge gained for initiation and
development of creative projects.
B1. Ability to implement cultural,
artistic and social research, relevant to
professional activities, which grounds
the value and expediency of a stage
project.
B2. Ability to collect information,
related to cultural heritage, art,
literature, music and social use, required
for the implementation of a creative
project; also implementation of artistic
research, required for the theatrical
projects of different genres.
C1.Understand the specifics of
performance creation/development;
ability to implement acting assignments
upon playing of a relevant role by
assuming the directing- related and
artistic concept of a play/performance.
C2. Mastering and ability to creatively
apply theoretical and practical
knowledge, relevant to means of
theatrical visual expression upon
development of roles, relevant to
different theatre genres and forms;
ability to properly apply the
components of visual theatre in
collective and individual stage-related
projects.
D1. Ability to communicate with theatre
expert sand specialists of other fields,
will generate feedback from the
audience.
D2. Ability to publicly present
individual and collective theatrical
projects.
E1. On the basis of knowledge,
competences and reflection skills
acquired, the ability to study in
autonomous manner and expand the
limits of abilities, relevant to creative
idea conceptualization and
interpretation, as well as interrelate
them with entrepreneurial skills, having
regard to social and cultural needs and
tasks set for artists.
E2. Ability to think independently,
perceive moral responsibility for the
impact of his/her activity and its results
on public, by understanding the positive
function of culture and art within the
context of the current needs of society.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Study results-based teaching and
learning activities of Theatre acting
study programme are oriented towards
self-expression, self-study and life-long
learning. Innovative methods, related to
organization of studies and execution of
the relevant activities, are applied.
Study process is implemented by
combining various forms of learning
and teaching (lectures, seminars,
workshops, project work,
demonstrations, discussions, group
work, individual work, self-study,
introductory conversation,
situationanalysis, analysis of
documents, analogues, literature and
reflection). The study process is
grounded on communication and
collaboration, independent practical
activities, group work, development of
critical and creative thinking.
Methods of assessment of learning
achievements:
Test, examination, differentiated credit
(pass), mid-semester examination
(display of works or audition), final
examination (final display of works or
final audition).

A graduate, having completed Theatre
acting study programme and having
acquired the professional bachelor
degree in Arts in Theatre acting, may
apply the knowledge and competences
gained for working in public and private
theatre troupes; casting agencies,
advertising agencies; working in
television and cinema; event agencies;
upon implementing educational, cultural
and social project activities
(implementing projects); founding and
managing a theatre.
Access to further study:
After completion of the study
programme, and having acquired the
professional bachelor degree in
ArtsTheatre acting, the graduates is
entitled to pursue Master's degree in
Lithuanian and foreign higher education
institutions.
