Objective(s) of a study programme:
to educate Bachelor of English and another foreign language with communication skills C1 and a professional teacher of English and another foreign language as a well-rounded language pedagogue.
Learning outcomes:
Graduates of the study programme Pedagogy of English and Another Foreign (German/French/Russian) Language will acquire
- knowledge of language, literature, culture and pedagogy and ability to apply it in practice;
- ability to carry out research;
- special competences: educating learners and teaching the language; using different technologies;
- social competences: teamwork;
- personal competences: quality orientation, learner autonomy; critical and analytical thinking.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Student-centred teaching that is based on the innovative and traditional teaching/learning methods: lectures (traditional, problem-based, discussion-based) focusing on teacher’s input; assignment-based practical classes and seminars; problem solving-based discussions in groups; preparation of individual and group-work presentations that are based on group work; insight-based peer reviews; student’s individual work: written assignments; scientific research-based projects, IT application; teaching practices (in secondary schools and gymnasia), learning at workplace.
