Summary of the Profile

Future holders of a master’s degree in art history and theory study the contemporary art of Eastern and Western Europe, memorial monuments, art historiography of early Christianity and the medieval period, historiography of Lithuanian Church history, religious art, the Vilnius school of art, issues of cultural heritage protection, art and society at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the organisation of artistic life in the first half of the 20th century, etc.
Professional training is organised. The duration of training is 400 hours. The organisation of cultural events, the identification and interpretation of art objects, and other skills are consolidated and improved during the training.
This art history and theory programme is intended for individuals who have acquired a bachelor’s degree and would like to earn a master’s degree in art science.
