Distinctive features of a study programme:
This program reflects the desire to find a balance between the traditional training of an economic specialist and innovation. Innovativeness in the program would be ensured by both science and studies, as well as extremely close economic/business and study relations, as a team of experienced teachers, some of whom have experience in innovative business, would implement the program alongside other EHU teachers.
The content of the program differs from other similar programs (especially Belarusian ones) in several aspects. First of all, the new program aims to contextualize the skills of future graduates, giving students the opportunity to study the basics of humanities and social sciences (Artes liberales subjects), thus enabling them to better understand the purpose and meaning of their field of activity, becoming morally responsible for the impact of their activities on the multifaceted development of society , helping them to strengthen their value system, focusing on European values, encouraging them to understand the realities determined by political factors. The program also includes more study subjects that purposefully strengthen the social responsibility of students. Therefore, the program can be described as having a strong educational - value projection.
The studies are focused on the student: options, interesting independent work, activating study and study assessment methods, project activities, problem-based learning, etc. are provided. The proposed program has an extremely strong focus on experiential studies and emphasizes the importance of projects, problem solving, simulation, and experiential learning methods.

Access to professional activity or further study:
Access to professional activity:
There are four main directions for career opportunities for the graduates of the ‘Business Economics’ program:
1. Innovative Belarusian Business
A huge wave of relocation of Belarusian business to neighbouring countries, especially Lithuania and Poland, gave a rise to a very specific situation. The majority of such relocated companies belong to the field of innovative business – IT, digital engineering, instrument engineering, etc. Such a class of companies traditionally has a strong demand for high-skilled economists with some specific skills. Given a mismatch between the rapid growth of such companies and the slower response of universities in the region, there’s a phenomenon of unsatisfied demand for such labour. Moreover, for innovative Belarusian firms after the relocation, this challenge is being amplified, as the corresponding labour supply in new host countries is either not sufficient, or they cannot rapidly and fully integrate into a new environment. Hence, numerous Belarusian firms that have relocated express a huge interest in the perspective of providing job opportunities to young Belarusians that have been equipped with the necessary competencies. The BA program 'Business Economics' is going to become a systemic response to this unique situation by providing students with knowledge and skills to be appropriate and demanded by innovative Belarusian businesses.
2. Further Academic Career
Students will have a straightforward connection with Lecturers from high-ranked Universities from the US, UK, and other countries (as Guest Lecturers), will have opportunities for international collaboration, etc. This will establish a basement for further academic careers for the part of the students of the program.
3. Financial Industry
The curriculum of the 'Business Economics' program is shaped to have an additional emphasis on frontier knowledge and skills in the financial industry. Given the outpacing development of this industry in the region (FinTech companies, banks, etc.) and some engagement of Belarusian businesses in this field as well will secure job opportunities for the graduates of 'Business Economics' in this sector.
4. Other Companies in Central and Eastern Europe
The level of competencies acquired by the graduate of the program 'Business Economics' will be high enough to be competitive in the regional job market, which faces a shortage of high-skilled labour in numerous segments.
Access to further study:
After graduation the graduates will be able to study in the second study cycle programmes in the field of economics and related fields.
