General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare highly qualified specialists in economics who are able to apply the latest knowledge of economics and research methodology in a systematic and independent manner, to evaluate the outcomes of economic policy critically at national and international levels, to model and forecast the impact of economic decision in interdisciplinary context and to conduct economic research grounded in scientific reasoning, following the requirements for sustainable development and ethics.

Knowledge and Its Application:
A1 Knows, applies and evaluates the theories of economics and other social sciences in complex and uncertain circumstances by taking social and ethical responsibility in professional activities and their changes.
A2 Has economic knowledge based on fundamental and applied research and is able to simulate the original ideas in economic research.
A3 Is able to apply economic theories by critically evaluating the impact of macroeconomic policy and its instruments and solving the problems of multidisciplinary and/or business functional areas in the global or unknown environment.
A4 Have knowledge of recent economic models and interdisciplinary research methods, their possibilities and limitations induced by the changes in the environment

Research Skills:
B1 Ability to analyze and critically evaluate the economic ideas and proposals, formulate economic arguments and assumptions and apply economic models and theories in applied and interdisciplinary research
B2 Ability to gather, systemize and evaluate a wide range of sources of information, necessary to the research performance and alternative economic decision-making
B3 Ability to integrate knowledge of economics and to manage the complex macroeconomic situations and make decisions in the absence of detailed and defined information

Activities of teaching and learning:
The material of study modules is presented during auditorium and individual work of the student. Auditorium work includes lectures, exercises, etc. Student's individual work includes his/her time for studying of theoretical material, preparing for lectures, exercises, doing homework and projects, preparing for midterm tests and exams during the semester. The study program ends with a Master thesis. The main teaching methods are following: lectures, workshops, discussions, case studies, group work, reflection activities, visits to companies, problem solving sessions, work with simulation models, etc.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Student's knowledge, abilities and skills acquired by the module are evaluated and recorded in the databases twice during the semester: evaluation of individual works (positive or negative evaluation) and evaluation during the exam in time of session (10-point scale). The main methods of assessment of learning achievements are following: exam, test, essay, colleaques‘ evaluation, report, individual / group work, task of problem solutions, blog, etc.

Study subjects (modules), practical training:
Programme workload is 120 credits, the main study modules of the program are following: Macroeconomic Policy, Economic Assessment of Innovations, The Transaction Economy, Macroeconomic Forecasting, Research Methodology, International Economics and Business, , Research Project, The Competitiveness of the EU Economy, Strategic Management Methodology, Multivariate Statistical Models and alternative blocks of electives. The program does not include practice.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
On completion of the study programme, students acquire the competences to analyse and model data, to evaluate macroeconomic policy in the national and global business environment, to manage international trade operations, to make financial and investment decisions in the global markets. These competences are necessary for modern highly-qualified specialist in economics. These professionals are having high demand in the consulting businesses, various sectors of industry, wholesale trade, logistics, banking sector.
