General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
Develop a personality with critical thinking, communication and cooperation, lifelong learning competencies, able to use the latest knowledge of management science, to apply scientific cognition methods in making sustainable organizational decisions.

Social skills: will be able to discuss topical management issues, effectively and persuasively present ideas and results of management activities; will be able to lead a team, taking the responsibility for performance; will be able to apply the principles of group formation, delegation of tasks and management, following the professional ethics in national and international contexts. Personal skills: will be able to apply strategic, critical and constructive thinking in making managerial decisions in complex and uncertain situations; will be able to make ethical and sustainable organizational development decisions; will be able to plan the process of lifelong learning, planning the directions for the development of professional competences.
Subject specific competencies:
Using modern management theories will be able to solve complex strategic issues of organizational development. Will understand the challenges of sustainable development and the mutual business opportunities to become a catalyst for change in solving the most significant global problems, find solutions to realize economic, environmental, technological and social benefits. Will be able to apply change management models, taking the initiative to implement new organization development projects, critically evaluating the internal and external context of the organization. Will know different management theories, models and tools and will be able expertly evaluate the development and implementation of management systems in the organization. Will be able critically evaluate the challenges and emerging opportunities of an constantly changing business environment in order to make sustainable value-creating decisions. Will be able to select, systematize and critically evaluate scientific research on management topics, apply social research methods, interpret results, and offer management solutions. Will be able to take the lead in ever-changing professional situations, leading the activities of other employees. Will be able to make strategic organizational decisions and justify them under the conditions of uncertainty. Will be able to integrate knowledge of different management theories and research to improve business and management practices.
Learning outcomes:
The Master of Management will be able to plan strategically and critically evaluate the alternatives of organizations strategic development, manage complex and uncertain situations, solve atypical management problems, systematically evaluate the impact of changes on an organization, initiate urgent sustainable decisions, and conduct research. Master's studies develop intercultural competences, self-learning and leadership skills.
Activities of teaching and learning:
The studies are being organized applying the following study forms: lectures, workshops, individual and group consultations. The studies are oriented towards the support of students’ active learning. In the programme teaching/learning strategies that develop cognitive, professional, transferable abilities are applied: learning through communication and cooperation in groups, research-based learning. They are being realized when applying the methods developing student’s critical, creative and constructive thinking: case analysis, social research, role performances, modelling, individual and group reflection, portfolio of learning achievements, etc. Application of these strategies and methods expands students’ abilities to perceive the activities’ of future professional field, to communicate with business people and representatives of other professions transferring knowledge gained in studies, discussing issues, raising problems or making decisions.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The system of accumulative evaluation is being applied, except for the Master’s thesis. The study results are evaluated through: written or oral exam, report (case and situation analyses), scientific essay, written assignment, as well as portfolio of learning achievements, self-evaluation and colleagues’ evaluation.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
Studies are conducted in Lithuanian and in English. During the studies research based learning method is applied. All programme is adopted for distance learning, distance learning is applied for separate subjects.

The Graduate can work as an organization or its department manager, market researcher, management consultant or manage one’s own business; he / she can take a leading position in the regional or national enterprises or foreign private companies, as well as a public sector organization of a variety of economy sectors.

After completion of the study programme the graduates have an opportunity to select doctoral studies.
