Summary of the Profile

Objective of a study programme:
To train skilled specialists of Professional Bachelor of Transport and Logistics, who understand the main national and international systems of transport and logistics, who have the up-to-date and relevant knowledge for transport and logistics business, who are able to manage the technological process of road transport and logistics, to establish and manage a business company, which are able to act independently and creatively in the changing conditions of business.

Learning outcomes
A graduate of studies will be able:
1. To acquire and apply general economic, finance, management and business organization knowledge, general and special skills necessary for successful career and continuous improvement.
2. to apply laws regulating transportation of goods by road and vehicle maintenance rules.
3. to assess business environment, establish logistics or transport company (branch).
4. to organize activities of transport or logistics company (branch).
5. to use information technologies in the field of transport and logistics and to be able to manage logistic information flows.
6. to plan the technological process of road transportation and to organize the necessary material supply.
7. to manage procurement and warehousing functions and process orders.
8. to manage, analyze and assess technological transportation process of logistic product integrating in logistics system.
9. To acquire skills necessary for assessment of own professional activity, knowledge and experience, to determine self-expression and self-development directions and to develop professionalism in the changing business environment.

Activities of teaching and learning:
Analysis of practical situations and case studies, project work, concept and mind mapping, service organisation processes‘ simulation, task solution, document analysis, problem teaching, practice in the workplace, demonstration and analysis of practical examples, real problem solving in project activities, professional internships, preparation of final thesis, etc.

Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Cumulative assessment and a ten-point assessment system are applied. When applying cumulative assessment the learning outcomes are evaluated by interim assignments. Course unit programmes foresee certain structural elements of assessment, their weight in the final assessment, content, criteria and requirements for certain tasks of assessment. Studies of each course unit end with an examination. In the Final Thesis students demonstrate the achieved learning outcomes of Transport and Logistics Business study programme.

Management, Economics, Cargo Transportation Technology, Marketing, Logistics, Legal Regulation of Transport Activity, Finance and Accounting, Transport and Logistics Information Systems, Sales Management, Cargo Forwarding and Customs Operations, Social Research Methodology, Professional Foreign Language, Personnel management, Vehicles and their Exploitation, Work Safety and Ergonomics, Supply Chain Management, Carriage of Special Cargo and Passengers or Car Technical Maintenance, Production Logistics and Trade logistics, Intermodal Transportation and Port logistics.

Teaching and Final practices of professional activity are done.
Optional course units correspond to the values of the University and aim at developing exceptional competences of a student in order to form a unified portrait of a student. 4 competences of a student are distinguished: Creativity and Entrepreneurship, Digital Communication, Linguistic Communication, Personal Development and Career Management.

Access to professional activity:
Graduates can create, plan and develop transport and logistics business; do market research, organize logistic and transport technological processes in companies, carry out material supply of vehicles, manage employees, control business status and assure quality of activity. Graduates can work in large, medium and small transport, logistic companies, in production and trade, warehouse and terminal, road, railway, sea, air transport companies (in supply and marketing divisions), in companies providing transport forwarding services.

Access to further studies:
Studies can be continued in Lithuanian and foreign higher schools, implementing II cycle study programmes in the group of Business and Public Management study field. Graduates, aiming at studying in the second cycle studies of business field must conform to the requirements pre-set by the higher school and in the descriptor of the group of study field or fields, have knowledge and abilities necessary for studies in accordance with the programmes of a certain field.
