Summary of the Profile

General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The program is aimed for media production technologists, specialists, media design professionals. Modern media production is a rapidly evolving field that combines the production activities of all types of media with technological nature, media consumption, distribution and storage. Media production includes product design, printing industry, production of promotional products, development and production of educational products and packaging design, creation of electronic publications, 3D prints etc.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge

Z1. Knowledge of the basic laws of mathematics and natural sciences, their quantitative and qualitative expression and scope, knowledge of planning and management of production processes required for the process of developing media product.

Z2. Knowledge of traditional and new media production technologies, the main tendenacies of media production design, the development of technologies of media product and 3D modeling principles, material attributes, and design and operation principles of equipment used, principles of product quality assurance.

Research skills

GT1. The capability to collect, classify, interpret and analyze the data required for formulation and solving the problems arising in the study field of printing engineering.
GT2. The capability to find the necessary professional information upon using databases and other sources of information, to establish the influence of various factors on the technological stages of the production of media products; in addition, the students will acquire skills in working with measuring equipment.

Engineering analysis

IA1. Will be able consistently apply their knowledge and understanding while analysing and formulating manufacturing engineering problems, will be able to use information technologies, programming and computer equipments, numerical and analytical methods.


IA2. Will be able to logically think and solve urgent engineering problems of the development and use of media products by assessing the quantitative and qualitative flow of information available.

Engineering design

IP1. Will be able to apply integrated knowledge and understanding of engineering fields in the development and implementation of engineering and technological solutions for the media production industry, understand the interactions between these solutions and understand their possible social, economic, psychological and commercial consequences.

IP2. Will be able to apply the knowledge and understanding of the field of media production in the design and implementation of projects that meet specified requirements.

Engineering practice ability

IVG1. Will be able to combine theoretical knowledge and practical skills solving the issues of media products structure, material selection, product planning process and organization issues; using advanced product quality control and analysis techniques.

IVG2. Will be able to understand and properly appropriate smart technologies in solving problems of media production and marketing.

Personal and social abilities
ACG1. The capability to work independently and in the group, to plan and arrange their activities in a responsible way, to control and assess the own activities and those of their team, to demonstrate a well-motivated attitude towards the profession, to learn individually and improve their competence upon perceiving the importance of the lifelong individual learning.

ACG2. The capability to understand and assess in a holistic way the impact of engineering solutions on the society and the environment, the capability to observe the norms of professional ethics.

Graduates will be ready to work in various media production companies in 2D and 3D printing, advertising and packaging manufacturing companies. They will be able to take on the role of technologists, production managers, designers in 3D printing companies, printing houses, packaging design and printing companies.

Graduates will have a possibility to continue their studies in the same or similar field for postgraduate study programmes. Possible further scientific career in PhD studies.
