General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
Preparation of industrial enterprise managerial staff engineers capable to create innovative products and to market them as well as to improve manufacturing, organizational and marketing processes in the global competitive environment.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge
The students will acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge in innovative product development and marketing as well as improvement of manufacturing and organizational processes in engineering.
The students will acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge in planning, organization and management of the activities of an industrial enterprise.
Research skills
The students will be capable to analyze the internal & external environmental factors in formulation and tackling of technical and managerial problems related to development and implementation of innovations and an improvement of manufacturing and organizational processes upon taking into account the economical, social, technological and environmental restrictions.
The students will be capable to analyze R&D scientific literature as well as the existing patent information, to provide their insights and proposals related to innovative product development and commercialization and an improvement of the manufacturing and organizational processes.
Engineering analysis
The students will be capable to analyze, synthesize, provide proposals on the base of the performed analysis and to implement manufacturing systems, to improve the manufacturing and organizational processes.
The students will be capable to analyze patent information on innovative products, to identify the signs of innovations in drawings, to provide proposals on development of an innovative product and to envisage future perspective technical solutions related to the product under development on the base of the data of the existing products.
Engineering design
The students will be capable to develop conceptual projects on an innovative product and an improvement of the manufacturing process.
The students will be capable to design a prototype of an innovative product and to develop a project on manufacturing.
Engineering practice ability
The students will be capable to apply modern modelling and simulation methods for development of proposals and substantiation of the solutions.
The students will be capable to assess engineering solutions inseparably from the context of macroeconomic & marketing environment and managerial activities in the global competitive environment.
Personal and social abilities
The students will acquire skills of leadership as well as organization of working in a team and project management in implementation of innovative solutions (related to product, process as well as marketing and organizational ones) at industrial enterprises.
The students will acquire presentation and communication skills in presenting the idea of an innovative product, its marketing and an improvement of the manufacturing and organizational processes; in addition, they will acquire organizational and managerial skills in innovation planning and implementation.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Academic lecture, practices, handouts' study, individual scientific literature study, individual research work, ideas generation, discussions, case and situation analysis, team work presentations, team and individual design of innovative projects, preparation of paper works and presentations based on topics of studies object and their public presentation, problem formulation and solving, survey, data analysis, systematization, design, modeling, problematic individual and team home works using latest information technologies and software, preparation for examination, consultations.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
For the assessment of students' knowledge and skills, the ten grade proportional cumulative mark system (cumulative assessment) is used.

It is possible to choose one of the study subjects compulsorily: Business Game, Diagnostic and Monitoring, Microprocessor Control.
It is free to choose subjects of any other field of study (no more than 6 credits).

Access to professional activity:
Persons with the Master of Engineering Science qualification degree are able to manage the production company, to develope and to implement process or product innovations in the industrial enterprises, to develop and manage innovative business, to fulfil scientific research. After the graduation, it is possible to extend studies at doctoral level of technological sciences.
Access to further study: Access to the third cycle studies.
