General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
Aims of the first-cycle study programme are to prepare highly qualified BME specialists who have knowledge of fundamental sciences, general knowledge of engineering, understand new bioengineering technologies, are able to apply knowledge, skills and understanding to obtain, analyse and model the biomedical data, to formulate, solve and substantiate tasks of experimental research, biomedical equipment management in health care institutions, etc.; are able to analyse and interpret the biomedical measurement data and to use them in their practical activities with the ability to communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions in the field of Biomedical Engineering to both engineering and medical specialists, to the general public; are able to work in a team, to self-study and continue studies in the second cycle (Master’s studies).
Learning outcomes:
Will have knowledge and understanding in the fields of physics, mathematics, general engineering, biomedical engineering, medical devices and systems, data structures, programming, anatomy, biophysics, human physiology; understand the latest developments in biomedical engineering; Will be able to apply the knowledge, skills and understanding of biomedical engineering tasks to formulate, solve and substantiate decisions and to collect, analyze, simulate and interpret and biomedical data, to use them in their practice with regard to the technical and social and ethical issues, to convey information, ideas, problems and solutions for professionals and society members;
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The programme is intended for persons with at least secondary education who seek knowledge and abilities allowing them to work in the field of modern bioengineering, to acquire the Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, to prepare for Master’s studies
