General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
Aim of the Fashion design study
program– to prepare a highly skilled
fashion design specialist, who is taking
into account trends and market needs,
familiar with the principles of visual
expression, style of elements, clothing
design and sustainability, able to apply
theoretical and technological knowledge
in practice, creating high-quality fashion
design products; organize and manage the
creative process in the national and
international context and being able to
independently develop or work in
interdisciplinary teams, reflect and
adequately assess the results of their
professional activities, apply
entrepreneurial skills, taking into account
the needs of the society and assuming
responsibility for the professional
performance.
Learning outcomes:
A1. Knowing and understanding the
historical development of cosmetology,
contemporary fashion aspects, trends
and the ability to apply it for the
creation of topical fashion design
projects and objects.
A2. Knowing the tools and techniques
of visual expression, understanding the
functionality of fashion design and the
possibilities of technological
development, knowing the safety
requirements and ability to apply it for
the creation of topical fashion design
projects and objects.
A3. Having knowledge of intellectual
property, copyright protection, business
management, communication,
knowledge, ability to apply for
organization and implementation of
fashion design projects.
B1. Ability to critically assess topical
phenomena and trends in fashion
design, ability to collect, compare,
analyze and systematize the necessary
information, conduct a design study,
draw conclusions and build on them
creative creative ideas that are
implemented in the context of a fashion
design.
C1.Ability to target visual means and
methods of expression, apply them by
conveying content ideas, shaping
images and designing clothing
collections.
C2. Ability to adequately select fabrics
and accessories, construction and
modeling techniques and sewing
technologies for implementation of the
project. Ability to purposefully choose
the optimal solutions and means of
realization in order to maximally reveal
the concept of the creation of clothing
and style collections, aesthetics,
personal creativity, project art and
technical completeness.
C3. By using available knowledge,
ability to design stylish collections of
clothing, organize their presentation for
a special audience and the general
public. Ability to perceive, evaluate and
create an artistic concept, master the
visual communication means, learn to
present the essence of the creative idea.
D1. Ability, by using professional
knowledge, to convey ideas and ideas
clearly and reasonably, present fashion
design products to colleagues, business
partners and clients. Ability to
communicate and collaborate in a
multicultural context. Being able to
take responsibility for the quality of
their own and their team's professional
activities, work in a team and
individually, in accordance with
professional ethics, intellectual property
law, business planning models,
responsibility and citizenship.
E1. Rationally and purposefully
applying entrepreneurial skills in
practical activities, developing critical
thinking, perceiving the importance of
personal initiative and independence in
realizing creative ideas in fashion
design projects, perceiving the fashion
design object as part of a common
visual culture. Ability to evaluate the
impact of professional results on
economic, cultural development and
society.
E2. Using the acquired knowledge and
skills, ability to reflect, professionally
plan activities, integrate into the
professional fashion design community
and continue to develop and learn, to
strategically improve their professional
activities.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Learning outcomes-based Fashion
design studies in teaching and learning
activities are focused on student selfexpression, independent and life-long
learning. The study process introduces
innovative methods of study
organization and activity. The study
process is realized by combining
different forms of teaching and learning
(lectures, seminars, practical
assignments, project work, exhibitions,
discussions, team work, individual work
independent work, presentation
interview, stuation analysis, analysis of
documents, analogues, literature
sources, reflection). Studies focus on
the implementation of communication
and cooperation, independent work,
teamwork, critical thinking and creative
thinking.

professional Bachelor's degree in Arts
have the ability to apply their acquired
knowledge and skills in their individual
creative, practical, project
activitiesandprovide various style and
fashion design services while working
in Lithuanian and international clothing
and textile enterprises, fashion houses,
creative and productive companies,
advertising agencies, television, theater,
fashion and other editions, to cooperate
with representatives of clothing retail
chains and individual shops, to carry out
individual activity.

Graduates who complete the Fashion
Design Study Program and have a
professional Bachelor's degree in Arts
have the opportunity to pursue a
Master's Degree in Lithuanian and
foreign universities.
