Summary of the Profile

Objective(s) of a study programme:

To develop the bachelor of transport engineering, who would be able to apply based on theoretical understanding and critical evaluation knowledge and abilities, to solve by his own technical problems and conduct activities in specialised working and study fields related with automobile transport, agricultural transport and transport technological equipment and spread specific knowledge about mentioned subjects.
Learning outcomes:

Bachelors of the programme will be able:
1. To perform measurements of physical dimensions, to analyse measurements data, to analyse references, to use database and other information sources, to conduct and summarise engineering research by using of standard research and mathematical statistics methods.
2. To apply theoretical knowledge and understanding for identification, formulation and solving of engineering problems in automobile transport, agricultural transport and technological equipment, for analyses of engineering products, processes and methods in transport systems; to choose and apply suitable analytical and modelling methods.
3. To apply and integrate knowledge of different areas to achieve rational combination of environmental, human's, technical and technological factors.
4. To apply general knowledge based on calculation and design methods for solving engineering problems: to design elements and technologies for transport means and technological equipment, to choose their production technologies.
5. To perform testing of transport means and their aggregates, to select necessary equipment and methods, to analyse and interpret given results, formulate conclusions.
6. To determine and analyse exploitation characteristics of transport means taking into account traffic, road and environment conditions, to be able to select transport technologies and means, properly to use them.
7. To determine and analyse technical properties of road construction and maintenance machines, loading and transport machines, machines and arrangements of logistic centres, to select technologies and means, properly to use them.
8. To be in contact with the engineering community and society, to understand responsibility of engineering activity in social and environment aspects, to understand different points of view and to argue his own position when solving specific problems of professional activity; to take responsibility for the quality of activity taken be himself and by his sub-workers.
9. To provide activity by himself, to learn all the life.

Activities of teaching and learning:
Lectures, laboratory works, practical works, discussions, practice, self-conducted work: studies of leaning literature, preparation form laboratory works, solution of individual tasks, preparation of paper and final works.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
For evaluation of knowledge and abilities ten points accumulative assessment system is applied. The results of study programme and study subject's are evaluated during all semester (are taken into account marks given by students during defence of laboratory works, solving individual tasks and their presentation, papers and control works, colloquium etc.). Studies of every subject's are finished by examination. The final evaluation is compiled from the component parts of cumulative evaluations of the subject. Percentage evaluation value for every component's part is appointed in the study subject's description.

Specialisations:

Optional courses:
There is possibility to improve knowledge in the study's aspect by selecting four study subjects from these alternative subjects groups:
1. Theory of automobiles, Diagnostics of automobiles, Design of automobiles, Hybrid and electric automobiles.
2. Loading and transport engineering, Road construction engineering, Road maintenance technologies and machines, Engineering systems of logistic centres.
There is also possibility to choose four study subjects from approved general list of subjects for all ASU study programmes or from adequate lists of subjects from other universities.
