General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The aim of the Joint Master's Program in Marine Biotechnology is to bring together the best experience of the program partners in the development of blue Bioeconomy science and provide students with unique professional knowledge and skills in using and adapting water resources while developing innovative products and services for the health, cosmetics, nutrition and aquaculture sectors.
Learning outcomes:
Graduates of the program will gain practical experience in the application of biochemical, molecular, bioinformatics and systems biology methods for using water resources; will be able to develop new products by responding to the needs of consumers in various markets and applying the knowledge of molecular discovery and extraction from marine organisms; will gain practical skills related to the management of innovative biotechnology projects, protection of industrial and intellectual property, R&D knowledge transfer and technology; through intensive virtual and physical mobility will gain working experience in the international team.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
It is a joint Master program involving 6 European universities: Valencia Catholic University (Spain), La Rochelle University (France), Agricultural University of Athens (Greece), University of Zadar (Croatia), Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest (Romania) and Klaipėda University (Lithuania).
Students will have possibility to choose among all partner universities to carry out master thesis, internship and Academic Research Integration course.

The joint Master program will prepare employable students for the current demands of the biotechnological sector. Postgraduates will work at different levels (project managers, researchers, lab managers, etc.) and in several types of organisations (from start-ups to big pharmaceutical companies).
