General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The purpose of the programme is to prepare high qualification software engineers that are able to carry out independently research; to lead software development, maintenance and process improvement projects; to apply their knowledge in different application areas; to make decisions under conditions of limited information, and logically, unambiguously and clearly argue them among specialists and non-specialists.

Study programme is composed of three groups of subjects: theoretical and applied subjects (for more in-depth knowledge) – 45% of total credits (compulsory subjects – 30.83% and optional subjects – 14.17%); professional practice – 15% of total credits; research work and the Master’s thesis – 40% of total credits.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
Graduates of the programme acquire knowledge in technologies and management, and abilities to lead projects of software development, maintenance and process improvement.

Access to professional activity:
A graduate is ready to work as a Project Manager in Information Technologies, as a Manager of software process improvement; in addition, as an Analyst, Designer, Programmer or Researcher in private and public sectors in Lithuania or abroad.
Access to further study:
Studies can be continued in informatics, informatics engineering or another related science at PhD cycle in Lithuania or abroad.
