General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The aim of the study program - to
develop highly skilled interior designers
who will: understand the necessary for
interiorand furniture designing
aestethical, technological, historical,
psychological, social principlesand will
be able to creatively implementwhile
designing various spaces and furniture;
perform artistic and social research,
confirming the value and expediency of
the project; understand and master the
stagesof interior and furniture designand
their specifics; will be able to
communicate and cooperate with
clients, other fields of art specialistsand
implement creative innovations in
interior & furniture design.
Learning outcomes:
A 1. Understanding of the principles of
visual expression required for particular
interior design projects, design
techniques and technologies.
A 2. Ability to purposefully and
creatively apply the knowledge of
interior and furniture design, historical
interior development, psychological and
sociological theories of space by
designing, decorating and installing
various aesthetic and functional interior
spaces in a variety of circumstances.
B 1. Ability to collect and analyze data
of applied quantitative and qualitative
social research, justifying professional
decisions, introducing creative
innovations.
B 2. He is able to collect and analyze
the artistic, cultural heritage and social
use information required for a creative
project by conducting an artistic study
required for a multi-purpose interior
space project.

and its living environment as a part of

E 1. Based on the acquired knowledge
and abilities, reflective skills, ability to
continue to study independently by
expanding the conceptualization and
interpretation of the creative idea and
the limits of its possibilities, linking
them with the entrepreneurial skills that
are being developed, taking into account
the needs of the economy, society and
culture, and the artist's tasks.

publicly, and responsibly evaluate the
environmental impact of their
professional performance by
understanding the positive cultural and
artistic function in the context of
meeting the needs of society today.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Study outcomes are based on interior
design study program teaching and
learning activities and are oriented
towards student self-expression, selflearning and lifelong learning. The
study process introduces innovative
methods of study organization and
activities. The study process is realized
by combining different forms of
teaching and learning (lectures,
seminars, practical assignments, project
work,presentations, discussions, work in
layout workshops, creative workshops,
team work, individual work,
independent work, heuristic
conversation, presentational interview,
analysis of situation, document,
analogue, literature sources analysis,
rreflection).Studies focus on the
implementation of communication and
cooperation, independent work,
teamwork, critical thinking and creative
thinking.

companiesand etc.
Access to further study:
Graduates completing the Interior
Design degree program and having a
professional Bachelor of Arts degree
have the opportunity to pursue Master's
Degree in ESAD Matosinhos School of
Arts and Design in Portugal (Escola
Superior de Artes e Design) and in other
universities in Lithuania and abroad.
