Summary of the Profile

General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The objective of the study programme is to prepare the bachelors in Management who have theoretical knowledge on management and are able to analyse micro and macro environments of organizations, to evaluate and identify the managerial problems, suggest the decisions on sustainable and rational usage of resources, to foster collaborative relationship with the interested parties and develop management competencies.
Learning outcomes:
A.1. Knows and is able to apply the methods and instruments for analysing micro and macro environments of organization, to make decisions on organization’s resource management and performance improvement.
A.2. Knows and applies leadership and management theories, the principles of team working, negotiation strategies and conflict management techniques in human resource management and relations with interested parties.
A.3. Knows the principles and methods of constructing sales process, segmentation, positioning, sales increasing and product design innovations and applies these skills in sales management and work with clients.
A.4. Knows and applies the methods of enterprise audit, and uses the data received for management decisions; applies employee performance assessment methods and selects the adequate remuneration and motivation means.
B.1. Is able to collect, analyse and evaluate business data by demonstrating digital literacy.
B.2. Is able to construct the research design by selecting qualitative and/or quantitative research approach for solving the theoretically grounded and practically identified problems of organization’s activities.
B.3. Is able to organize and conduct research, to analyse the research results and to interpret them by relating to theoretical models and concepts.
C.1. Is able to apply traditional and modern methods of product costs (initial costs) accounting and pricing for making budgets of enterprise performance, plan profit (loss) account, cash flows and balance sheets.
Is able to generate innovative ideas to commercialize them, to solve the intellectual property issues in order to forecast the business development possibilities in national and foreign markets.
C.3. Is able to set the goals and means of customer relations and sales management by defining their development possibilities in digital space and to communicate the product value to the interested parties.
C.4. Is able to identify and model the supply chain and processes of organization with the aim to develop the solutions for improving company’s quality management processes.
C.5. Is able to analyze digital data on the operations performed, the effectiveness and quality of production processes and their control and to suggest the solutions for production chain digitalization.
D.1. Is able to communicate in business style, to argument the opinion in discussions, negotiate and persuade the stakeholders of enterprise.
D.2. Is able to visualize and publicly present information and knowledge for professionals and non-professional audience.

Activities of teaching and learning:
The study material in all modules is mastered during the students’ classroom and independent work. Classroom work includes lectures, laboratory work and practical sessions. Various teaching and learning methods that promote student participation are applied during classroom work: discussion, group work, role play tasks, simulation models, application of special software packages, project work development, problem solving, case analysis, problem-based learning and reflection of activities. Students’ independent work is devoted to mastering theoretical material, preparation for lectures, laboratory work and assignments, mid-term examination and final examination, preparation of homework and projects. Lectures of visiting lecturers (practitioners), study trips to production and business enterprises, consulting seminars are organized during studies. The study program is completed with a Final Degree Project.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The student's knowledge, abilities and skills acquired during the course of the module are assessed and recorded in the academic database twice: the evaluation of semester's independent work (positive or negative assessment) and final evaluation during the exam session. A ten-point Scale and Cumulative Scoring Scheme are applied. During the semester, the cumulative student score consists of assessments for individual and / or group projects, mid-term exam, control or laboratory work, the analysis and presentation of the literature source / scientific article, case study, report, practice-based assignments, etc. Final exam (written or oral) makes at least 30 percent of the final score.
Students receive oral and / or written feedback from their teacher on their mid-term exams, presentations, home assignments, individual tasks. During the work in the classroom, peer- review comments about peer-group teamwork skills, oral presentations, projects, and so on are used.

Study subjects (modules), practical training:
Total volume of modules of the main field of study makes 150 credits, including Practice and Final Degree Project: Introduction of Management Studies, Mathematics, Innovative Information Technologies, Business Statistics, Micro and Macro Economics, Social Research Methods, Management, Human Resource Management, Accounting and Finance Management, Marketing, Business Strategy, International Business, Labour Relations Legal Regulation, Management Psychology, Management Control, Reputation Management and Communication. 24 credits are devoted to specializations Sales Management or Quality Management. Students carry out the internship (Practice module of 15 credits) in business organizations and analyze organizational functions and processes, solve the practical managerial problem identified in the company. A total of 26 subjects are studied.

Students may choose 18 credits from the alternative modules: Entrepreneurship (6 ECTS), Product Development Project (12 ECTS), Production Organization (6 ECTS), Information Technologies in Production (6 ETCS) and Digitalization in Production Chain (6 ECTS)
Distinctive features of a study programme:
Students have possibility to individualize the study content by choosing the interdisciplinary product development project or the technological profile alternative modules in digitalization of production: Production Organization, Information Technologies in Production and Digitalization in Production Chain. This is an optional alternative that is attractive for management professionals who plan their career in high tech companies or technological innovation based organizations. The second alternative – Product Development Project – is based on innovation development concept and students’ work in interdisciplinary team, and decision making together with students in technological studies.

Access to professional activity:
Graduates could be employed in business organizations, industrial and production companies, in the departments of marketing, quality management, human resources, commerce, finance or to establish own business. The specializations obtained enable students to take positions of sales manager, manager of product(-s) development, project manager in product development, quality manager, etc.
Access to further study:
Graduates will be able to continue their studies in postgraduate study programs in Management or Business and Public Management study field study programmes (Master’s level studies).
