General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To develop aeronautical engineering specialists with a wide range of engineering knowledge and abilities. Capable of carrying out fundamental and applied research using knowledge-based, research-based aircraft mechanical, electrical, automated systems capable of understanding and addressing the challenges of aircraft management related to aviation industry. Upon completion of studies, the opportunity to study at doctoral level is granted.
Under this program, aeronautical specialists are trained - pilots of aircraft (airplanes and helicopters)
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge
Students will know and understand and will be able to apply the principles of natural sciences and mathematics creatively, principles of aeronautical engineering studies and will be able to apply them to solve new engineering tasks.
Knowledge and systematic understanding of the essential theoretical and applied basics and concepts of the field of study corresponding to the aviation engineering study program, will be able to apply methods and processes of other scientific fields.
Ability to investigate
Will be able to plan and carry out analytical, simulation and experimental research, to critically evaluate their data and provide conclusions
Will be able to plan, apply the latest methods of solving and analyzing aviation engineering problems
Ability to conduct engineering analysis
Will be able to solve non-standard, incomplete problems, clearly formulate them, apply innovative methods to solve specific problems and implement their solutions.
Will be able to use their knowledge and understanding to solve practical engineering problems of aeronautics by applying theoretical models and research methods, including mathematical analysis, numerical simulation and experimental research methods.
Engineering design. Knowledge and skills required for design work
Will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in dealing with non-standard aeronautical engineering, including those related to other fields of study and engineering studies.
To be able to innovate the development of new and original aeronautical engineering ideas and methods, to take engineering solutions in the face of multifarious, technically uncertain and not clearly defined problems. Engineering design.
Engineering abilities. Practical work abilities to solve engineering tasks

Will be able to select and apply appropriate methods, tools and equipment for the implementation of engineering solutions, will know the design, operation principles, functions of these engineering equipment, will have the initial capacity for their use
Will be able to combine theoretical and applied knowledge in solving engineering problems.
Ability to work and use flight simulators, to apply knowledge gained during the flight of airplanes equipped with one or two reciprocating internal combustion engines and adapted to rise from hard cover; to pilot a helicopter that has a single piston internal combustion engine.
Personal and social skills
Will be able to work independently and in team, to be the leader of an intercultural team, to make rational decisions in extreme or atypical situations, to communicate with the engineering community and the general public nationally and internationally. Will (fully) comprehend the impact of aeronautical engineering solutions on society and the environment, observe professional ethics and engineering norms, perceive responsibility for engineering activities, understands the aspects of project management and business, understands the interactions of technological solutions with their economic consequences.
Personal and social skills
Is able to work independently and in a team, can communicate with the engineering community and the general public, holistically understands the impact of engineering decisions on the public and the environment, is able to adhere to the norms of professional ethics and engineering, and the ability to perceive responsibility for engineering activities.
Graduates understands the aspects of project management and business, understands the interconnections of technological solutions with their economic consequences, perceives the importance of individual lifelong learning and prepares them, is able to communicate in regular English language, written and oral, at least one of the main foreign languages, to use modern information and communication technologies; work skills in a team of specialists from various fields.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Interactive lectures and problem based learning, laboratory works, practices, demonstration lectures, individual or team work tasks, excursions, case studies, reports and papers, information search and summarising, study of research and study literature, presentations, simulation of real situations in simulators.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Cumulative assessment system: individual work tasks and tests, reports of laboratory works and practices, course and complex projects, defence of final thesis.
