General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare high qualified specialists with an engineering background that able to carry out the exploitation, design and modernization of sea port and transport means power facilities – diesel plants, engines and equipment, designing and installing contemporary information technologies of automation and automated control.
Learning outcomes:
- knows the design of ship and port energy and technological installations, machines, and mechanisms and their operation, repair, technical maintenance, diagnostics;
- Engineering basic knowledge of the theory and technologies of constructional materials, machines, and mechanisms, designing and production methods;
- Knows the importance and place of the transport sector in the national economy, its structure, functioning, technologies;
- Business-oriented knowledge of macro- and micro-economics, including those of management principles and methods.
- Knows of humanities and social sciences both for achieving the goals of the engineering profession and for fostering broader erudition and philosophical world outlook;
- Able to investigate and formulate a problem, to envisage and rational ways and technologies for resolving the problem, to plan experimental and mathematical simulation research.
