General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare competitive, well-qualified electric and automation engineering specialists for LR and EU labour market, who will be able to work individually, solve professional problems and apply the latest technological knowledge in the field of electric engineering.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge and its application:
Will know general regularities and laws of natural sciences and mathematics in order to understand the fundamental basics of Electrical engineering study field. Will know the most important concepts of Electrical engineering study field, will be able to understand their content. Will have the key knowledge in Electrical engineering study field that are important in practice. Will know the context of problems and their solutions of adjacent study fields. Will be able to apply the newest methods and knowledge for solving problems in Electrical engineering study field while analysing engineering tasks and choosing the right methods, experimental and manufacturing facilities to tackle them. Will know how to apply analytical and modelling methods for solution of engineering tasks and problems in Electrical engineering study field.
Competences to carry out research:
Will be able to find proper scientific information using data bases and other scientific and engineering information resources. Will carry out necessary tests for solving engineering problems, process their results, formulate and present conclusions based on these results. Will have skills to operate state-of-the-art equipment and devices used in Electrical engineering study field.
Special skills:
Will be able to select engineering solutions, as well as means and equipment needed to implement them. Will be able to combine theoretical and applied knowledge while solving engineering issues. Will understand ethical, environmental and commercial considerations of engineering activity. Will be able to understand operational principles of engineering activity, will know the main requirements for workplace and electrical safety. Will be able to apply engineering knowledge while formulating and carrying out the design tasks in accordance with the laid down requirements. Will be able to use various design methods, as well as critically analyse them.
Social skills:
Will be able to solve engineering challenges individually and in a team. Will know how to communicate with engineering specialists.
Personal skills:
Will comprehend the importance of the impact of engineering decisions on society and environment, will obey the norms of professional ethics and engineering activities, understand responsibility for the results of engineering activities. Will be aware of the main aspects of project implementation and management on the level of engineering activities. Will comprehend the importance of individual lifelong learning and will prepare for it.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Lectures, consultations, practical tasks and course papers, individual work, practices of professional activities. Students accomplish practical tasks individually or in groups.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The student‘s knowledge, skills and abilities acquired while studying subjects of a study programme are assessed after completing of individual assignments performed during semesters and exam session. The achieved learning outcomes after completion of subject/module studies are assessed attributing them to the levels of achievement: excellent, typical and threshold.

Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Materials, Engineering Graphics, Applied Software, Engineering Mechanics, Analysis of Electric Circuits, Electronics, Power Electronics, Electrical Measurements, Microprocessors and Controllers, Fundamentals of Automation, Electrical Power Engineering, Electrical Machines and Drives, Electrical and Automation Equipment, Electrical Safety, Project Management, Economics of Engineering, Applied Research, Information Transmission Systems, Discrete Automation Systems, Automation and Control Systems Modelling, Buildings Technological Systems Control, Mechatronic Systems, Programming.
Special Study Subjects:
Law, optional subjects by choice of students (Electric Market, Science Shops Project, Power Engineering History, Interdisciplinary project, Biomass Power Engineering, Illumination Technics, Robotics, Lightning Protection, Modern Electric Power Systems – selected three of them).

Educational Practice, Technological Practice 1, Industrial Practice, Technological Practice 2, Final Practice.
Completion of Studies:
Studies are completed by defending the Final work individually prepared by a student.
Distinctive features of a study programme:
Students of the study programme have possibility to obtain the latest theoretical knowledge, abilities and practical skills in the area of electrical automation equipment supervision in cooperation with supervision of lecturers- practitioners, who work in innovative enterprises. During studies, students are taught to analyse, design, implement automation and mechatronics devices, to modernise them, control and apply in practice. Laboratories of the college are equipped with modern facilities and students are able to prepare innovative tasks of interdisciplinary projects, to participate in international projects. Students participate in international exchange programme “Erasmus+” go to study or for professional activities internships to the other countries of European Union.
Access to professional activity or further study:
Specialist of Electrical and Automation Engineering can work in the electrotechnics profile enterprises, that design, install and maintain electrical and automation equipment, to lead the activities of separate division or to establish his/her private enterprise. Graduate can continue his/her studies having chosen university study programmes in the field of Electrical Engineering.
