Summary of the Profile
General Description: Objective(s) of a study programme: to prepare critically thinking and socially responsible business specialists, capable of managing the company's operational processes, implementing business projects, implementing green technology solutions, aiming for sustainability and innovative business solutions. Learning outcomes: 1. Will be able to apply in an integrated manner the latest knowledge of economics, management, marketing and other social sciences when creating a business and solving complex business tasks under the changing conditions of the environment. 2. Will be able to apply the essential theories and concepts, that the management of sustainable business and green technologies are based upon, responding to the fields of strategic business development of a company. 3. Choosing proper qualitative and quantitative research methods will be able to do independent research, to collect, structure, analyze, interpret and use information necessary for professional activity, to formulate reasoned research conclusions. 4. Developing the concepts of sustainable business and promoting positive business changes, will be able to plan, organize, control and manage the processes of company activity, by choosing innovative technological solutions. 5. Creating an economically sustainable and responsible business culture, will be able to introduce green technologies in a company activity, ensuring the efficiency and sustainability of a company activity. 6. Structuring and analyzing the data on company activity, will be able to attract business funding sources, rationally use the available resources, aiming at sustainable competitiveness of the company. 7. Responding to the implementation of customer needs, will be able to manage the processes of selling goods and services, to make suggestions concerning new goods and services, using green technology innovations. 8. Applying the principles of a socially responsible business and responding to the social and environmental innovations, will be able to implement and manage business projects, ensuring the quality of their implementation. 9. Effectively communicating in Lithuanian and foreign languages, will be able to communicate and cooperate with the specialists in one’s and other areas, with customers, business partners, to responsibly apply legal acts when carrying out professional activity. 10. Will be able to systematically analyze and assess professional activity, knowledge and experience, to make decisions, generate new ideas, study independently and develop one’s professionalism, foreseeing the fields of lifelong learning as well as self-expression and self-education. Activities of teaching and learning: Innovative teaching and learning methods are applied, it is aimed at active student participation in the study process: a student-oriented teaching is based on practical tasks, emphasizing the importance of independent work of a student and abilities to creatively solve different situations (problem-based teaching, analysis of practical situations and case studies, creative workshops, mind and concept maps/concept maps, expert method, project methodand etc.). Activating and heuristic study methods are coordinated with traditional methods of developing knowledge and abilities: lectures, seminars, discussions and consultations.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements: Accumulative assessment and a ten-point assessment system are applied. Applying accumulative assessment, learning outcomes are assessed during interim tests. Course unit programmes foresee structural elements of assessment, their weight in the final assessment, content of particular assessment tasks, criteria and requirements. At the end of the studies of every course unit students take an examination or get an evaluation of independent work. The final grade consists of the component parts of accumulative assessment foreseen in the programme of a course unit (e.g. interim tests, independent works, examination), percentages being determined in the programme of a course unit. Framework: Study subjects (modules), practical training: The volume of course units of the study field – 152 credits. The following course units of the field are studied Professional foreign language, Business economics, Management, Marketing, Financial accounting and taxes, Social research methodology, Human resources management, Sales management, Principles of sustainable business, Technological business processes, Responsible business culture/Sustainable business philosophy/Social responsibility in business, Sustainable communication and ethics/Digital business, Sustainable business project management, Business data analysis, Technological innovations, Cyber security, Technology implementation and management, Green technologies, Climate change and environmental protection, Customer Experience Management, International law, Sustainable logistics, Sustainable finances. Generic college course units comprise 16 credits. Teaching and final practical trainings are done under real conditions of activity. The total volume of practical trainings – 33 credits. The volume of final thesis – 9 credits. Specialisations: - Optional courses: Students will have a possibility to choose course units from 5 alternatives, aimed at deepening knowledge in the study field, where students will get 9 credits. Students will be able to choose from such course units of the study field as Responsible business culture/Sustainable business philosophy/Social responsibility in business Sustainable communication and ethics/Digital business. Students are also offered optional course units, aimed at interdisciplinary studies or development of general competences and a student chooses them from the list of optional course units offered by the University. The foreseen volume of optional course units – 12 credits. Distinctive features of a study programme: Access to professional activity or further study: Access to professional activity: Future specialists will be able to create their own company, work as managers in business companies implementing technologies, green technologies, trade purchase/sales or import/export managers, project managers in sustainable business companies, etc. Access to further study: Graduates will continue their studies to obtain a bachelor's degree at the university. After completing the majority of studies or fulfilling other requirements set by the higher education institution, they will have to enroll in second-cycle master's studies.
