General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The main aim of the Professional Bachelor's Degree Programme in Musical Theatre is to train professional musical theatre actors who are capable of creating and preparing roles for musical theatre productions and performing them publicly. The program enables students to combine, at a high level of professionalism, the actor's mastery of acting, vocal, and choreographic skills, as well as the abilities of artistic expression. This is grounded in a solid understanding of the theatrical, musical, and choreographic arts. Graduates will be equipped to participate in the creative activities of theatrical companies and to develop their own individual artistic careers.

Learning outcomes:
Knowledge and its application:
- Gather, analyse and interpret information, develop and argue ideas.
- Read and analyse musical and literary texts, identifying their essential elements.
- Apply the main genres and styles of music and musical theatre (especially musical theatre) as they develop.
Research skills:
- Analyse and evaluate public cultural phenomena in the context of regional and world musical-theatrical culture.
- To evaluate one's own artistic activity and its possibilities in the context of the repertoire of musical theatre and various genres of vocal music and its requirements.
- To prepare artistic material for the creation and performance of a specific musical theatre role, using the acquired knowledge, skills and technical tools.
Special skills:
- Managing stress (especially stage fright), adapting to changing circumstances.
- Control and demonstrate the main instruments of artistic expression: the voice (vocal technique, stage language), acting technique (emotional memory, attention, imagination) and the body (dance technique, stage movement), by simultaneously performing musical, acting and choreographic tasks related to a specific artistic context.
- Interact with other performers as a soloist and as a member of an ensemble, depending on the role and the musical part being performed.
- Create and realise an individual artistic concept by mastering the performance tools (musical, acting and choreographic) within the artistic context of a specific musical theatre production.
- Respond to changes in the artistic (musical, directorial, choreographic) solution and the situation on stage.
- Perform the role of musical theatre with appropriate control of voice, body and emotional expression on stage.
Social skills:
- Represent your personal skills and creative ideas in a way that is accessible to stakeholders (in Lithuanian and at least one foreign language).
- Communicate and work as part of a team with other performers, creative directors and other staff, in accordance with professional ethics and legal regulations.
Personal competences:
- To plan and achieve goals independently and to pursue professional activities with purpose.
- Apply and develop ideas of ethical and sustainable development in different social and cultural contexts.

Activities of teaching and learning:
Focus on the development of general and subject-specific competences and creativity: lectures, seminars, research and systematisation of information, workshops, rehearsals; group work, pair work, practical independent work, projects, public presentation and defence of work.

Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The assessment of the programme's learning outcomes is carried out throughout the semester and during the examination session, using cumulative assessment. The learning outcomes during the semester are assessed through mid-term examinations: seminars, project, public presentation and defence of the project, independent creative tasks, practice reports, examinations and final thesis, independent creative tasks, musical dictation, rhythmic skills presentation, rhythmic dictation.

Acting, Stage Speech, Stage Movement, Solo Singing, Musical Ensemble Singing, Jazz Singing, Basics of Classical Dance, Classical Jazz Dance; Contemporary Dance, Keyboard Instruments, Music Theory and Solfeggio, Rhythmics, Final Project.
Teaching-observation Practice, Stage Practice and Musical Studio, Vocal Practice, Acting Practice and Musical Studio, Stage Dance Practice, Musical Studio Practice.

Optional courses:
Professional English, Psychology of Performing Arts, Free elective modules (9 ECTS) chosen from the list offered by Higher Education Institution.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
The links between the programme's learning outcomes and subjects are designed to ensure that the competences acquired in the Bachelor of Arts will enable graduates to integrate easily into the labour market. The studies are organised in such a way that the future musical theatre actor understands his/her professional purpose, the specifics of working in a theatre company, the ethics of the stage and the legal regulation of creative activity, the process of creating a musical performance and a role in it, and is able to prepare for the performance of a role and its artistic presentation, and to work independently and in a group.

Access to professional activity:
Graduates of Musical Theatre will be able to work as actors in drama and musical theatres, in project-based theatre and entertainment companies, in television programmes, to create and perform roles in musical performances, and to develop an individual career as an actor and/or a singer.

Access to further study:
Graduates can continue their studies at Lithuanian and foreign higher education institutions and universities.
