General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare creative, highly qualified specialists in photography for the labour market, who are able to work independently and apply the latest technological knowledge in the field of media arts, to make artistic and technical decisions independently, to work successfully in the competitive conditions of the market, individually or in a team, and to develop professionally.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge and their application.
The student will know the main concepts of media art and areas of artistic directions (branches) historical development and contemporary trends, will be able to apply the knowledge in creative activities by generating artistic ideas. Understand the specifics of specific media art direction and interfaces with other artistic directions, creating media works and projects and media products, will apply knowledge from cultural, historical, economic, social and other contexts. Will be able to apply media art knowledge and demonstrate artistic skills and interdisciplinary studies, will be able to create creative ways of audiovisual, audio or visual expression, use old and new technologies and equipment in creative process and professional activities. He will know the peculiarities of creative business, the principles of media art projects, he will apply, realizing creative projects and implementing creative strategies. He will know health, safe work, fire protection and environmental requirements related to the field of specific media art activities, and will be able to follow them in practical activities.
Abilities for research.
The student will be able to critically evaluate media art phenomena and identify prevailing or topical trends, collecting, analyzing and systematizing the information needed to address creative problems, and the results of art and research and creative experiments. Will be able to perform media art study, summarize and apply its results, realizing creative ideas in the media art process. Using the results of the study, he will be able to choose the right ways of solving creative problems, argue his choice and draw conclusions.
Special skills.
The student works independently or in collaboration in a professional and / or interdisciplinary environment, will be able to generate the ideas of media art projects, providing creative offers and choose solutions. Will be able to choose and apply artistic expression tools and ways to demonstrate technological skills, manage emerging and changing media and technologies and apply them in creative media art projects. Will be able to experiment in the creative process of the field of specific media art, based on personal creative practices, co-ordinary and contemporary art insights, other media art creators performance analysis. Will be able to present creative ideas and (or) projects, using visual communication and information technologies in real and virtual space. Will be able to create a creative folder (portfolio) based on the principles of composition and media art concepts in accordance with the technological requirements.
Social skills.
The student is able to communicate with colleagues, potential customers and other public representatives in implementing media works and projects. He will know the relationship between media artistic creator and customer, user, co-authors and collaborators, will be able to follow copyright protection, labor law and ethical requirements, creating media artworks and projects and media products, he is implemented and publicly presented. Will be able to communicate in the oral and written form of state and at least one foreign language in professional activities and public space. Will be able to work in a team and collaborate, take responsibility for the quality and content of their and subordinate employees, will follow professional ethics and citizenship.
Personal skills.
The student will be able to study independently, deal with creative problems, planning its activities, to comply with the deadlines, adapt to changing circumstances. Will perceive moral responsibility for his creative performance, his impact on society, environment, economic and artistic development. Will be able to self-study and plan the learning process, critically evaluate personal creative activities, understand the importance of lifelong learning.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Lectures, consultations, practical tasks and course papers, individual work, practices of professional activities. Students accomplish practical tasks individually or in groups.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The student ‘s knowledge, skills and abilities acquired while studying subjects of a study programme are assessed after completing of individual assignments performed during the semester and exam session. The achieved learning outcomes after completion of subject/module studies are assessed attributing them to the levels of achievement: excellent, typical and threshold.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
The study programme is distinguished by the completeness of subjects relevant to the contemporary photography market and provides students with the opportunity to use professional photography and lighting methodology, manage photo equipment, take photographs for advertising and press, shoot, create photographic illustrations for books and apply information technologies in the field of digital photography. The College in cooperation with the Lithuanian Union of Art Photographers and Lithuanian Press Photo Club, provide students with the opportunity to participate in various lectures, competitions and exhibitions organized by social stakeholders.

Access to professional activity:
Graduate will be able to work as a photograph in mass media, advertising, publishing enterprises, digital laboratories and other areas engaged in image production and output or perform individual activities with business license or having authorship agreements.
Access to further study:
Graduate can continue his/her studies having chosen university study programmes in the field of Media Art studies.
