General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare mechanical engineering specialists providing them with the skills, abilities and knowledge necessary to professionally design, solve professional problems, apply the latest technologies in the field of mechanical engineering.

Learning Outcomes:
Knowledge and its application. A person must:
Have a general foundation of knowledge in Mathematics, Physics and/or technology, allowing them to understand and describe the processes taking place in the chosen field of study of engineering sciences;
Be familiar with the essential concepts of the chosen field of study of engineering sciences and understand their content;
Acquire basic and up-to-date knowledge of the chosen field of study of engineering sciences, which would be applied in practice;
Be familiar with the principles of digital manufacturing, cloud manufacturing processes, the Internet of Things, business management systems and augmented reality.
Special (engineering analysis and design) skills. A person must:
Be able to analyze the processes and products of the chosen field of study of engineering sciences, understand and interpret the results obtained;
Be able to solve engineering problems by selecting appropriate methods, experimental and production equipment;
Understand design methodologies, be able to apply specialized software for process analysis and data management, designing processes and products of the chosen engineering sciences study field in accordance with the established technical, economic and environmental requirements.
Abilities to conduct research and practical activities. The person must:
Be able to find the information necessary for the studies of the chosen engineering sciences study field, systematize and interpret it;
Be able to perform the necessary experiments to solve engineering problems, analyze the results obtained and present conclusions;
Have skills in working with equipment used in the chosen engineering sciences study field;
Be able to practically solve problems of the chosen engineering sciences study field;
Be able to participate in working groups, implementing projects of the chosen engineering sciences study field, taking into account the principles of circular economy, artificial intelligence, industrial digitalization, ethical, environmental, commercial, organizational, occupational safety and health circumstances and the development of the concept of sustainability;
Be able to cooperate with specialists from other professional activities;
Personal (decision-making, lifelong learning, cooperation and teamwork) skills. The person must:
Be able to solve engineering problems individually and in a team;
Be able to communicate with the engineering community and the general public in correct Lithuanian and at least one foreign language;
Understand the impact of engineering decisions on society and the environment, adhere to professional ethics and engineering standards, and understand responsibility for the results of engineering activities;
At the level of engineering activities, be familiar with the main aspects of project implementation and management;
Understand the importance of individual lifelong learning and prepare for it.
Teaching and Learning Activities:
Lectures, consultations, practical and coursework, independent work, professional practice. Students perform practical work individually or in groups.
Methods of Assessment of Learning Achievements:
The student's knowledge, abilities and skills acquired while studying, the subjects provided for in the study programme are assessed when reporting on all the student's independent work during the semester and the examination sessions. The student's achieved study results upon completion of the subject/module studies are assessed by assigning them to the achievement levels: excellent, typical and threshold.

Distinctive Features of a Study Programme:
The quality of the study program is ensured by new laboratories equipped with modern equipment and the college's cooperation with business enterprises.
In cooperation with the international company HAAS AUTOMATION EUROPE and the social partner UAB ABPLANALP EGINEERING, the HAAS Technical Training Center was established. As part of the international project "Program-controlled machine tool operator certificate to increase the competitiveness of specialists", an innovative training program has been created, providing students with opportunities to acquire competencies that meet European level requirements. HAAS AE awards scholarships to the best-performing students. Students carry out experimental development work, participate in the international projects and the international exchange program "Erasmus+": they go to study or do professional practice in other European Union countries.

A graduate can work in such professional areas as product design and engineering analysis, design of mechanical technology production and repair processes, solving problems of operation and maintenance of technological equipment, equipment design, development analysis of manufacturing enterprises, and other engineering work, in the enterprises for the production and repair of metals and their products, machinery and equipment.

A graduate can continue his studies by choosing university study programs in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
