General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
Prepare legal specialists (lawyers) of the highest qualification who have specialized knowledge of international commerce and business law, who are capable to think conceptually, identify and resolve different legal problems arising in international business environment, to apply legal norms in a professional manner while providing legal services with international element. to provide legal services in public and private sectors at national, regional and international level; to be capable of developing intentional business actively and independently, make innovative decisions that would increase business compatibility and its international value by applying legal thinking, integral scientific and legal knowledge as well as governing principles of international business law and competition rules.
Learning outcomes:
Students are obliged to:
1. acquire special competencies and knowledge in the main international commerce and business law areas and to understand current world trade and business law development tendencies and ongoing processes.
2. be able to understand legal decisions in disputes arising in international commerce and business environment, to be able to select appropriate modes for dispute resolution.
3. be able to apply legal regulations of different commerce and business law areas and to be able to analyze legal regulations using legal research methods.
4. be able to make legal effective decisions independently in constantly changing international business environment and taking into account the modes international business law development tendencies.
5. be able to resolve various legal problems arising international business, conduct legal analysis, initiate and implement idea, projects taking into account national legal characteristics and combine them with internationals legal environment.
6. be able to integrate knowledge of international business law into general economic and commercial system and prepare comprehensive legal decisions in various areas of business law using legal research methods.
7. be able to communicate effectively complex legal information to different audience (clients, mediators etc.) following legal rule of dispute resolution.
8. be able to apply legal knowledge in a socially responsible and ethical manner, evaluate consequences taking into account complex relations of international business law environment.
9. be able to apply and combine legal methods, organize and implement research projects in various areas of international comerce and business law
10. be able to deepen legal knowledge independently in particular international commerce and business law field, to strengthen information selection and summarizing skills
Activities of teaching and learning:
A variety of learning and teaching methods meeting different students’ styles and needs is applied in study process. In most course delivery process in order to achieve higher knowledge take in a few methods are combined, such as theoretical, engaging, interactive, aiming at case studies type of lecture; practice classes and seminars, when students carry out practical tasks, analyze cases and situations, prepare presentations for separate subjects, participate in discussions, consult colleagues, prepare individual and team projects, discuss references and visual material, etc.; during self-study process students analyze literature, search for information, write academic paper works.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
A consolidated assessment is being applied, composed of progress testing (colloquim, control testing, practice tasks, individual and team work task results and their presentaion, written paper work, etc) and written examination or written and spoken assessment.

Study subjects (modules), practical training:
Study volume of the major subject in credits – 90.
Students do a course in the following master study subjects:
International contract law; International investment law; International transport law and insurance; International and comparative company law; Alternative dispute resolution; International trade law; Payments and finance in international trade; International Banking Law and Practice; International Tax Law; Industrial property protection: patents, trademarks and industrial design; 30 credits are allocated for final academic paper.

The gradutes of the program would be eligible to be empyed not only in Lithuanian but also international private structures (attorneys’ offices, legal firms, international cooporations etc. ) and public sector, in particular in public institutions, which operate within Lithuanian territory (e.g. Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania) or abroad (e.g. European Commission’s DGs’: Trade; Economic and Financial Affairs; Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets etc.)
Access to further study:
Having accomplished the Master’s Degree study programme of LL. M. International Comerce and Business Law, access to further Doctoral studies in the area of Social Sciences is available.
