General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare highly qualified specialists in management who possess theoretical and methodological knowledge on strategic management, are able to recognise theoretical and practical management problems, to solve them by applying interdisciplinary research methods and providing the argument-based conclusions.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge and Its Application:
A1 Know and demonstrate management knowledge based on up-to-date fundamental and applied research that forms the base and opportunity for novel creation and/or application of novel ideas in the context of scientific research into management.
A2 Know and analyse in depth the conventional and contemporary management theories and critically assess the relations between management and other social sciences and humanities.
A3 Know, analyse in depth and develop the concepts and methodologies of modern management when solving strategic and other problems of business organisations.
A4 Know and make the intelligent assessment of the possibilities for business enterprise strategic management, taking into account economic, social, legal, ethical and technological tendencies, peculiarities of the modern society, dimensions of the sustainable development, and relations among them in the national and global markets.
Research Skills:
B1 Can analyse and evaluate critically the conventional and contemporary theories of management when conducting applied and interdisciplinary research.
B2 Can organise and evaluate information received from various sources needed when conducting scientific research and making alternative managerial decisions on a chosen topic.
B3 Can integrate modern economic and management knowledge while identifying business environment in wider social context.
B4 Can assess and integrate interdisciplinary knowledge when dealing with various business situations caused by market and environmental changes.

C1 Can apply managerial thinking, analytic and logical skills when assessing economic, social and other changes and preparing organization’s strategic alternatives.
C2 Can apply strategic thinking to envisaging business opportunities and consequences in the national and global market.
C3 Can apply strategic logic argumentation based on the findings of theoretical and empirical research when proposing reliable analytical decisions of strategic management.

D1 Can reason conclusions and ideas in a clear and understandable way and to substantiate the reasons of the choice to the specialist in that research area and other stakeholders, including consulting and expert evaluation.
D2 Can perform scientific research individually and in groups, to assess the efficiency of a work group while assuming greater responsibility in a team.
D3 Can efficiently communicate in oral and written form with professionals and other stakeholders; be able to critically assess information in solving scientific and practical problems of management and other areas while taking social responsibility for ones' own and others decisions, guided by professional ethics and citizenship.

Study literature readings, written exam, oral exam, mid-term exam, test, colloquium (interview led by lecturer and / or specialist), oral presentation with slides, research paper (content) analysis, literature analysis, essay, reflection on action, peer-assessment, problem solving task, individual work, report, project report.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
A graduate possesses and demonstrates the theoretical and methodological knowledge of management, is able to use it in applied and interdisciplinary research, understands the managerial functions of business enterprise, critically evaluates the business opportunities and outcomes in national and global markets, demonstrates strategic thinking and is able provide the scientifically justified management solutions, strategic alternatives. A graduate is able to take responsibility for his/her decisions based on professional ethics and citizenship, to effectively communicate orally and in written form with the professionals and other stakeholders, to present the critical judgement on the information received in solving both scientific and practice-based problems in management and other fields of activity; to choose the relevant personal development strategy and to manage his/her own lifelong learning process.
