Summary of the Profile

General Description: Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare a business field specialist
who is knowledgeable in customs
activities: processes and procedures,
who is able to manage business
processes involving the management of
information, material and financial
flows, who has the ability to organise
and execute business activities
influenced by customs processes and
procedures, and the ability to act
independently and creatively in the
changing business market conditions.
Learning outcomes:
1. Students will understand the general
principles of business development,
design and management of an
organisation, international logistics and
customs activities, will have up-to-date
knowledge of management theory and
problem-solving in organisational
management, and will be able to apply
it in practice.
2. Students will be able to identify and
understand the fundamentals of theories
in the social sciences, humanities, law
and other sciences, and understand
peculiarities of their application in
practical business development and
customs processes.
3. Students will be able to conduct
empirical research, while integrating
knowledge from social sciences,
humanities, technology, law and other
sciences to the study of business and
customs processes.
4. Students will be able to use
contemporary information technologies,
apply quantitative and qualitative
research methods, and gather
information in a targeted manner to
address issues related to business
development, management, and
interaction with customs processes.
5. Students will be able to collect data
and analyse the business environment and customs processes in order to
identify problems and select appropriate
problem-solving approaches to address
the relevant business and customs
challenges.
6. Students will be able to collect,
summarise, analyse and systematise
data on the organisation's information,
material and financial flows, assess its
performance, make proposals on
business management, operational
improvement and customs processes.
7. Students will be able to plan, organise
and carry out research of the business
environment influenced by customs
activities, independently select
technological, organisational and
methodological tools in order to analyse
the activities of a business enterprise in
relation to customs and to determine the
ways to improve them.
8. Students will be able to
independently apply professional
knowledge of customs activities to
manage and improve business processes
drawing on social sciences, humanities,
law, technology and other sciences.
9. Students will be able to interact with
professionals and others to address the
challenges of the impact of customs
activities on the creation, management
and development of business, and to
communicate their knowledge and point
of view in a manner consistent with
professional ethics and civic citizenship.
10. Students will be able to express their
thoughts critically and coherently in
writing and orally, to raise and resolve
business management and development
issues in coordination with customs
activities, and to discuss relevant
professional issues, developing and
strengthening their business
management skills in the context of
customs activities.
11. Students will be able to collect,
gather and systemize information, to use
a variety of information sources and information technologies in the field of
business and customs activities, and to
deal appropriately with confidential
information.
12. Students will be able to develop
independently in the field of
professional business and customs
activities, and will be aware of the
moral responsibility for the impact of
the results of his/her activities on the
development of society, the economy,
culture and the environment.
13. Students will be able to
independently develop and extend
professional competence in business
and customs activities through
lifelong learning.
Teaching and learning activities:
Lecture, exercises, seminars, laboratory
works, demonstration, discussion, case
study, trips to companies, lectures by
business representatives, distance study,
project method, etc.
The study program is completed with an
independently prepared student’s Final
Thesis.
Methods of assessment of learning
achievements:
Various evaluation methods are applied
to assess study achievements:
examination, project, test, report,
presentation of individual work, etc.
The study outcomes achieved by
students after completing the studies of
the subject are assessed by assigning the
level of achievement to them. There are
three levels of study achievement in the
subject: excellent, typical, threshold.

study programme will have the

enterprise, in the Customs Department
of the Republic of Lithuania, and in its
subdivisions, carrying out business
activities conditioned by the customs
processes and procedures, and in
changing business market conditions.
Access to further study:
Graduates have the opportunity to study
at universities and gain a higher
university education.
