General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The aim of study programme is to train highly qualified and broad profile specialists of economics who would acquire universal knowledge of general education and specialized knowledge in the field of studies, who would be able to apply the knowledge in the effective activity under the conditions of contemporary market in the private and public sectors, and who would be able to organize the activity of economy divisions and to analyze and assess the economic processes taking place in enterprises and organizations in order to effectively use the possessed resources.
Learning outcomes:
1. Understand the conception, object, content, and laws of the science of economics, know classical and contemporary theories of economics, and are able to apply principal economic theories and economic argumentation in practice.
2. Understand laws and models of economics, know the trends of development of Lithuanian and international economy, are able to analyze the governmental policies and the functioning of global economics.
3. Know the indicators that characterize economic activities
4. Able analyze social and economic phenomena, to calculate the economic indicators, and to explain their interrelationships and impact on business.
5. Able to practically summarize and assess the results of an economic situation and activity of the economic subject and to analyze, interpret, and assess economic information and the content of activity of economic subjects.
6. Able choose an appropriate qualitative or quantitative research method and are able to use them in the identification of economic problems.
