General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The aim of the Performing Arts study programme is to train creative artists of the highest qualification, performers of classical, popular and jazz music (instrumentalists, singers, soloists, musicians of various ensembles, conductors), capable of individual performance practice, to influence the musical (cultural) tradition by their own creativity and other artistic means to perform and interpret works professionally in solo and various ensembles and orchestras, as well as to analyse, evaluate, develop individual creative activity, searching for the most artistically influential interpretation of the work, to carry out small-scale artistic research in the field of music culture and performance practice.
Learning outcomes:
- Able to distinguish, compare and evaluate styles, genres, musical language and techniques of different eras, relating this knowledge to the specifics of a particular artistic performance activity and the needs of building original repertoire.
- The student is able to interpret musical material in a professional manner, critically evaluating and applying his/her comprehensive knowledge of the principles of musical form, the interaction of the elements of musical language, creative technique, the psychology of performance practice and the causality of musical expression.
- Remiantis specializuotomis muzikos analizės ir žiniomis apie kūrybos, kūrybinės veiklos ir atlikimo meno procesus, sukurti ir pagrįsti kompleksišką ir originalią muzikos kūrinio interpretaciją įvairiais (klasikiniu, šiuolaikiniu ir autentišku) stiliais.
- Dalyvaujant įvairių sričių muzikantams, geba suformuoti muzikinės kūrybos reiškinio koncepciją, remiantis muzikos meno perspektyva, kartu muzikuojant ir / ar vadovaujant projektams su įvairių specialybių instrumentalistais, dainininkais, chorais.
- Geba realizuoti aukščiausio lygio kūrybinį sumanymą, atskleidžiantį savo kaip atlikėjo meninį meistriškumą, profesionalius praktinius įgūdžius gebėjimą prisiimti atsakomybę už kokybiškai atliekamą pagrindinį vaidmenį ansamblyje ar individualiai.
- Geba originaliai taikyti pasirinktas kūrybinio sumanymo įgyvendinimo priemones, kūrybiškai įvertinant pradinę sumanymo koncepciją ir jo įgyvendinimo galimybes, įvertinant savo galimybes veikti įvairiose meninės veiklos ir komunikacijos kontekstuose.
- Geba parengti savo muzikinės veiklos patirties įrodymus-garso, vaizdo įrašu, tekstus, padedančius plėtoti veiklą, atsižvelgiant į jos funkcionavimo erdves, galimybes bei funkcijas kūrybinių industrijų kontekste.
- Mature, skilful and critical thinking, communicating effectively in analysing one's own performance as a performer and or creative projects, initiating creative activities or projects with other artists

Activities of teaching and learning:
The programme aims at the highest musical achievement of the students, which is why individual and group music making are the main methods of study, which are intertwined with musicological analysis of musical works, listening to and evaluating musical works, analysis of the development of the world's musical life, and a critical evaluation of one's own musical achievements in the context of the culture and the other branches of art.

programme:
The uniqueness of the results of the study programme is reflected in the expressiveness of the music performed, in the non-verbal communication, in the process of cultural cooperation, in the transmission of the composer's coded message to the listener through the performer's musical and cultural awareness. The ability of the performer to communicate the emotional, physical and intellectual impact of music, and the unfolding of creative potential, is a fundamental aim of music studies.

Access to professional activity:
Graduates can be solo performers, members of bands and ensembles, perform music in concerts, festivals, short-term music projects, recording studios, soundtracks for films and commercials, compose music for themselves or for other performers, produce music, and work in music therapy.
Additional qualifications may include management of own and other artists, coordination of musical events, good analytical skills, publishing articles on music, providing insights into music and its cultural impact
