Description

Object of activities: personal health care, which includes assistance to a nursing specialist in providing qualified nursing services. Typical work tools: medical equipment (devices), medicines, patient transport, lifting equipment. Typical working conditions: working indoors, individual and team work. Additional information: the nurse assistant follows the Description of Qualification Requirements for the Nurse Assistant, approved by the Order of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania of 2 September 2019 No. V-1042 “On the Order of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania of 26 April 2000 No. 220 “On the Lithuanian Medical Standard MN 21: 2000“ Nurse Assistant. Functions, duties, rights, competences and responsibilities“ approval“ amendment“, principles of social justice, social responsibility, human rights, work ethic, internal rules of the workplace, occupational safety and health, ergonomics, public health safety, fire safety and the requirements of environmental and other regulatory acts. Qualified individuals will be able to work in the licensed personal health care institutions that are authorized to provide general practice nursing and / or other personal health care services, which according to legal requirements must be provided together with other personal health care professionals by a nurse's assistant. Competences of qualification: 1. Ensure the patient's personal hygiene. 2. Assist with feeding the patient. 3. Familiarize the patient with a temporary living environment of health care institution. 4. Assist the nurse or obstetrician in caring for a patient. 5. Assist the nurse to prepare and carry out patient’s rehabilitation procedures. 6. Take care of dying patients and their families. 7. Collect simple samples for testing, to pack and deliver them to the laboratory under supervision of nursing specialist. 8. Take care of vomiting, probed and drained patient, to maintain catheter and monitor urine output as well as patient’s defecation and urination processes. 9. Prepare and use of disinfectants. 10. Monitor the infusion, to prepare and maintain the care measures. 11. Manage dead bodies.
