Future holders of a master’s degree in religious studies, i.e. future Roman Catholic priests, study the history of philosophy, logic, philosophical anthropology, ethics, general sociology, introduction to theology, introduction to the Bible, spiritual theology, history of the Church, the Lithuanian language, Latin, Italian, Polish, chanting, fundamental theology, special moral theology, bioethics, canon law, dogmatic theology, the Old and New Testaments, exegesis of the Bible, pastoral theology, psychology, history of the Church in Lithuania, the social science of the Church, Greek, etc.
Professional training is organised in three stages: liturgical training, teaching religion at school, and comprehensive delivery of the homily. The duration of training is 84 hours. The skills of performing Church ordinance procedure and working with school children are consolidated and improved during the training
This religious studies programme is intended for males who have acquired a secondary education and would like to become Roman Catholic priests.
