General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The goal of the “Start-ups Building and Management” study program is to prepare bachelors in the field of management who are able to think conceptually and have sufficient interdisciplinary knowledge of business, management, finance, economics, law, psychology, digital technology to manage start-ups, innovative products and business models. and development processes in newly established organizations and existing business companies and public sector organizations, identifying the ever-changing various needs and challenges of business, market, consumers and society, initiating and applying new methods of market and consumer knowledge based on modern management concepts and communications relationships with consumers, employees, investors and partners, creating added value and competitive advantage for the organization and the country globally.
Learning outcomes:
1. Knowledge and its application: 1.1. Will know the theories of social sciences and humanities, will be able to apply them, comprehensively and systematically analysing and evaluating theoretical and practical phenomena of business management; 1.2. Will know the principles of start-up and technology companies, organizational structure formation, management, will be able to apply the latest knowledge of management theory and organizational management problem solving, assessing external and internal factors of the business environment, and form proposals for improving problematic areas of business management; 1.3. Will be able to apply the latest management knowledge in interdisciplinary studies or various areas of professional activity, critically analyse and comprehensively evaluate business processes in the context of management theories and international change. 2. Special abilities: 2.1. Will be able to collect, structure, analyse and systematize the data and decision-making features of organizations of different sizes and in different areas of activity, evaluate performance, provide suggestions on start-up, management, development, improvement and other issues; 2.2. Will be able to plan, organize and conduct environmental research and prepare guidelines for business and public sector development, take into account the intended objectives and results of analysis, using critical thinking to independently select technological, organizational and methodological tools for research and highlight ways to improve business and public sector performance; 2.3. Will be able to evaluate and forecast changes in the business environment, analyse and systematize the research results needed to solve important business economic, social and ethical problems, provide recommendations for solutions; 2.4. Will be able to organise prototypes of technological products and test them under market conditions and provide directions for the development of a start-up or product; 2.5. Will know the financial management of the start-up and will be able to assess the financial risks, prospects and financial trends of the technological business or start-up and attract investments to ensure business development; 2.6. Will be able to assess the legal environment and other risks of the technological business or start-up being created and provide recommendations for business development; 2.7. Will be able to develop technological requirements and participate in building a prototype; 2.8. Will be able to influence stakeholders such as potential and existing customers, partners, investors, team members. 3. Social skills: 3.1. Will be able to communicate and cooperate with specialists and the public in solving the tasks of professional activity or field of study, orally and in writing to communicate business management knowledge to specialists, present the results of activities to various audiences, discuss relevant professional issues in an interdisciplinary environment; 3.2. Will be able to express ideas orally and in writing, communicate effectively in a professional business environment and community; 3.3. Will be able to assess the quality of their own and subordinates' activities, take responsibility for its results, follow professional ethics and citizenship; 3.4. Will be able to form an effective team and lead it in the early stages of start-up development. 4. Personal abilities: 4.1. Will be able to critically evaluate their own and colleagues' professional practice, to understand the moral responsibility for the impact of their activities and their results on social, economic, cultural development and the environment; 4.2. Will be able to work responsibly, thoroughly and independently, to make creative and innovative decisions in difficult situations; 4.3. Will be able to independently improve and expand professional competence through lifelong learning, carry out various ethical activities based on creativity, self-expression and innovation; 4.4. Will be able to flexibly adapt to the changing environment, develop logical, problem-solving thinking and constantly foster the development of digital skills in professional activities. 5. Ability to conduct research: 5.1. Will be able to conduct research, creatively and critically apply management methods, evaluate the basic laws, concepts and categories of business, use the achievements and methods of fundamental and applied research, formulate research conclusions; 5.2. Will be able to choose appropriate qualitative and quantitative research methods to conduct business environment research, summarize the research results, present possible solutions; after assessing the trends of changes in the business environment, will be able to see the prospects of business management; 5.3. Will be able to find, process, interpret and apply research results, preparing solutions to business creation and management problems, forecast business and public sector development and efficiency trends, taking into account changes in the environment.

- The program focuses on the development of digital technological entrepreneurship knowledge and skills, addressing real-world problems and challenges.
- The program uses the latest start-up techniques such as Google sprint, Design thinking, Lean methodology.
- The program will use innovative learning methods such as experimental learning, innovative workshops, sprint-oriented workshops, start-up building.
- In parallel with their studies, students will participate in the activities of the MRU Startup Hub, use the mentoring, expert services and consultations provided by the MRU Startup Hub, and participate in networking events with the investors community.
- Students will create their start-up covering all stages of start-up development: from idea validation to the discovery of the first paying customers.

After successfully defending the final thesis, the graduate of the program will be able to create a start-up, innovative business or create innovative products or solutions in an existing company and become not only an entrepreneur, but also an intrepreneur. The competencies provided allows students to choose and work in technology companies in the following positions: IT project manager, product manager, marketing, digital marketing and sales specialist, department head, financial and investment management and analysis specialist, many start-up ecosystem organizations and technology parks, public sector positions focused on the creation and implementation of innovations, digitization, project management. Graduates of the program will be able to attract and manage investment from a variety of sources, including business angels, venture capital funds, crowdfunding investment platforms, or through government incentives, creating the solutions needed for society to prosper.
