Summary of the Profile

Objective(s) of a study programme:
The main objective of the “Cyber security management" master’s degree programs is to prepare highly qualified professionals capable to understand, create, and manage the state of the art information technology environments and human resources, also holistically address the challenges associated with modern e-information security (cyber security), protection of information critical infrastructures and the research management of related information technologies and management (public and business). As well as their organizational, legal, security aspects, the ethical values, communication and their innovative and creative universalism, allowing to gain strategic management skills and skills to adopt innovative solutions in the rapidly changing world of information technologies and cyber security environments.
Objectives of the programme, in accordance with the requirements of the Dublin descriptors are:
1. Teach students to analyze and assess the knowledge in the fields of the State of the art e-information security (cyber security) and the management, to conceptualize and apply innovations in public and/or business sectors.
2. Teach interdisciplinary capacity to integrate business processes and electronic information security (cyber security)
3. Develop the methodological and practical skills to research the area of e-information security (cyber security), to organize the conversion of research results into public and/or business sector, to be able to formulate, to structure the innovations in the field of cyber security in global competitive environments.
4. Provide integrated skills of the transferring of cyber security innovations and their dissemination, to form the environment of managerial solutions in the field of technology, to enhance creativity in technological teams.
5. To develop the skills and the ability of independent work, based on modern outlook, methodologies of scientific research, skills to select scientific information and to structure it, also the self-development skills.

Learning outcomes:
R1. Capacity to deal with the realities of electronic information security (cyber security), taking into account the increasing dynamics, the potential threats, strategic opportunities arising from tendencies of global electronic business electronic public services, the environment of e-business and the global trends.
R2. Learning outcomes to work in the environment of electronic public services and e-business, in the context of heterogeneous changes, using the holistic management paradigms, methodologies and the latest social and information technologies in the field of cyber security.
R3. Knowledge to evaluate the strategic trends of security of electronic information (cyber security), align technological trends with global, public, social, economic needs, through the interdisciplinary knowledge and scientifical research methodologies.
R4. Knowledge to use a holistic approach in dealing with a wide variety of electronic information security (cyber security) threats.
R5. Will be able to organize evaluation of research and work of a modern electronic information security (cyber security), analyze their adaptation to meet the needs of the State and society, and to the development of economic and social values, to create a interaction of modern scientific and efficient managerial environments, to plan their strategies, the use the holistic approach in making managerial decisions.
R6. Will be able to understand how electronic information security (cyber security) management creates safe, competitive environment for the public and business services, and how is creating added value for business and in all levels of knowledge-based economy.
R7. Will be able to organize and manage human resources, technological platforms in cyber security field, and make the decisions in changing environments, to develop and manage cyber security development projects.
R8. Will be able to scientifically analyze creative solutions in the cyber security (cyber security) field, and evaluate development opportunities, to argue and create innovative ideas and creative solutions for their implementation in electronic and information security (cyber security) field, to the security of electronic information (cyber security) innovative projects, to integrate a new knowledge in new and unknown environments and in global multicultural context.
R9. Will be able to organize and manage human resources, technological platforms in cyber security field, and make the decisions in changing environments, to develop and manage cyber security development projects.
R10. Will be able apply in a socially responsible manner the managerial decisions, analytical tools in the field of security of electronic information (cyber security) and to organize research in this direction, creatively use modern methods of decision-making with regard to the legal and ethical environment.
R11. Mastering the electronic protection (cyber security) model making, innovation management, cost-effectiveness, the methods of development and implementation of projects and their dissemination, the combination of forms in their adaptation to the micro and macro, as well as the ability to strategically plan the security of electronic information (cyber security) processes in the global safe cyber space and in knowledge-based economy.
R12. To be able to track purposefully and self interest the achievements in the security of electronic information (cyber security) field, their opportunities and models for their application, their trends and prospects in the Lithuania and the world, to interpret the diverse political, technological and business information, to integrate it, to rebuild it, and to reuse it for the new decisions and innovations, to create new processes, products, and services in the field of cyber security.

Activities of teaching and learning:
Problem layout, interactive lectures, individual or team work, leadership skills, debate, independent study methods, information retrieval, analysis, and synthesis, critical thinking, self-study methods; discussion and group work methods, teaching problem; an interactive lectures, educational project, creative solutions and design techniques; research methods (research of information, literary reading, preparation and delivery of the self written text); method of network learning (team creative problem solving in the familiar with the theoretical material and examples)

Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Analysis of sources; evaluating of creative tasks; independent written works, carried out using the sources of information; voluntary presentation of learning material by individual or group; recurring attestation according to the stages of the implementation of an educational project: analysis of the situation and the argumentation of the concept, problem, the Organization and planning of the project, the analysis of literature sources, reports, and presentations of the results according to the requirements set out in the programme; exam, evaluation of the skills to combine managerial theories associated with business modelling, pose the economic problems related with them; evaluation of the activity and the level of innovation during seminars; intermediate evaluation – middle semester test; test (open and closed-end tasks/issues).
