General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To train wellness and beauty business professionals who are able to organize the provision of services in the fields of wellness, beauty and body improvement, who apply the principles of healthy lifestyle and improvement of quality of life in their professional activities, and who have the knowledge and skills necessary to
independently and responsibly create, manage and develop a business in national and international markets.
Learning outcomes:
The graduate of the program:
1. will be able to apply basic knowledge of external and internal factors influencing human health, organization of healthy lifestyle, knowledge of social sciences in the organization of wellness and beauty services business.
2. be able to apply the legal and hygienic norms that regulate the provision of health and beauty services and the establishment and management of a health and beauty service business.
3. develop positive attitudes of clients towards improving their own health and quality of life according to the laws of holistic development
4. apply the knowledge of the organization of healthy lifestyle, physical activity, beauty and body development to the organization of the processes of providing wellness and beauty services.
5. use a variety of internal and external communication models and tools to build positive relationships with clients, staff, business partners and other professionals.
6. assess the wellness and beauty services business environment, target consumer markets, their segments and trends in business organization.
7. manage a wellness and beauty services business by applying the principles of entrepreneurship, innovation, ethics and aesthetics, safety and hygiene.
8. Provide wellness and beauty services to clients with the goal of improving physical, emotional and spiritual health.
9. create business plans for wellness and beauty services based on economic and financial calculations and resource requirements.
10. independently make appropriate decisions to develop a wellness and beauty services business under changing market condition
Activities of teaching and learning:
The program uses heuristic or active learning methods: problem- based learning, analysis of practical situations and cases, project work, concept and mind mapping, simulation of management processes, problem solving, document analysis, debates, cooperative learning, on-the-job training, demonstration and analysis of practical examples, solving real-life problems in a
project activity, creating insights and scenarios for development, etc.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Cumulative assessment is used with a ten point grading system. Subject and module syllabi include specific structural elements of assessment, their weighting in the final assessment, and the content, criteria and requirements of specific assessment tasks. The study of each subject culminates in an examination. Students shall demonstrate the results achieved in the program by means of a
final thesis.
The assessment of the learning outcomes of the program is carried out throughout the semester and during the examination session by means of cumulative assessment. The results of the studies are assessed during the semester by means of mid-term examinations: control work, individual and group project work, tests, case studies, information retrieval and systematization, discussions, independent creative tasks, seminars, coursework, practical
reports, examinations, final thesis.

According to the general requirements, the Wellness and Beauty Business program consists of 20 credits of general college subjects. 139 credits are allocated to the study of the core subjects of the specialization, of which 33 credits are allocated to the educational and final professional practice and 9 credits to the final thesis. Students can choose between modules aimed at further specialization in the fields of Wellness and Beauty Business and free elective modules that develop and enhance general
competences and are intended for interdisciplinary studies.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
It is the first higher education program of its kind in Lithuania to focus on the wellness and beauty business, taking into account modern health trends, consumer needs and business market dynamics. The wellness and beauty business is a new but much needed sector with a shortage of qualified professionals. This program therefore not only responds to the growing interest of people in health and beauty, but also reflects the needs of the business market and gives students the opportunity to become leaders in this growing sector. The key differentiator of this program is its unique focus on the rapidly changing business of health and beauty, combined with an emphasis on practical learning that enables students to become prepared and competitive
business professionals.

Access to professional activity:
Graduates will be able to start their own business in the wellness and beauty sector, as they will have knowledge of management, business economics, marketing and financial management, business organization, service quality management skills, as well as specific knowledge of wellness education and beauty promotion, and will be able to offer services to clients to improve their physical, emotional and spiritual health. Graduates will be able to conduct consumer behavior and market research, apply innovative and optimally effective communication, creativity and entrepreneurship models in the development of companies in the sector, as well as form positive customer attitudes towards
improving their health and quality of life, in accordance with the principles of holistic development.
Access to further study:
After graduation from the Wellness and Beauty Business study program, students can continue their studies in the 2nd cycle of management and business study programs at Lithuanian and
foreign universities.
