Summary of the Profile

The Firefighting and rescue operations training program aims to prepare a firefighter-rescuer of the Municipality Fire Service, an who is able to extinguish fires, mitigate consequences of traffic or chemical/radiation incidents, rescue people, property and animals from fires, traffic accidents, chemical/radiation ant other’s incidents and also carry out rescue works in water/ice surface, height and depth. Persons who obtain a firefighter's qualification will be able to work as firefighter-rescuers in units of the State Fire and Rescue Service. This programme is intended for initial vocational education and training. The programme covers 6 compulsory modules: firefighting; provision of first aid for victims; rescue works in a traffic accident; rescue works in chemical and radiological incidents; rescue of people and property and work in the fire station. The programme also contains 2 optional modules: Operation of fire truck platform and Operation of the fire truck ladder. Both theoretical and practical training are foreseen within the modules. Upon the completion of this programme, there is a possibility to continue training at the higher education institutions according to the programme of Fire Safety in the Field of Safety EngineeringTraining provides knowledge on: diving activities, diving diseases and prevention on it, diving equipment, water rescue tactics, first aid. During practical training people will learn how to swim and dive properly with a mask and a tube, how to rescue drowners, and how to work with diving equipment in the water.
