Description

Object of activities: masonry of building structures, installation and concreting of elements necessary for masonry structures, masonry repair.
Typical work tools: personal protective equipment, hand tools for spreading mortar, removing bricks, blocks or natural stones, breaking and similar, mortar preparation equipment, tools and inventory, lifting equipment, etc.
Typical working conditions: activities involving heavy manual labor; working on open construction sites and indoors, in various weather conditions; have to work with lifting mechanisms, also at height. Due to the specifics of the work, the employee is provided with special clothing.
Additional information: the bricklayer assistant follows the requirements of occupational safety and health, ergonomics, occupational hygiene, fire safety, environmental protection, and the principles of sustainable construction. The following personal qualities are important to him: thoroughness, concentration of attention, body coordination, physical endurance, ability to work in a team. The bricklayer assistant works in a team, is coordinated and supervised by a higher-skilled worker, performs simple operations and actions to solve simple problems as instructed, assists higher-skilled workers, performing activities use the written and oral information, and provides feedback. After obtaining this qualification, individuals will be able to work in construction companies.
Competences of qualification:
1. Store bricklaying materials, products and equipment according to the instructions.
2. Prepare and put in order a bricklayer‘s work place according to the instructions.
3. Prepare mortar according to the instructions.
4. Install waterproofing in masonry construction according to the instructions.
5. Arrange the materials at the masonry site according to the instructions.
6. Prepare masonry construction for repair according to the instructions.
7. Assist in assembling the elements of the masonry construction.
8. Prepare concrete, deliver it to the concrete laying site according to the instructions.
