Description

Object of activities: production of simple wooden products and construction of wooden buildings, repair of wooden elements.
Typical work tools: personal protective equipment, woodworking tools, equipment and machine tools, cutting, planing, drilling, grinding, forging, fixing tools, lifting equipment, etc.
Typical working conditions: activities involve heavy manual physical work outdoors and indoors. Work with machines, lifting, loading mechanisms, at height.
Additional information: in its activities, the carpenter follows the requirements of occupational safety and health, ergonomics, occupational hygiene, fire safety, environmental protection, construction norms and rules, other documents regulating carpentry work and the principles of sustainable construction. The following personal qualities are important for a carpenter: thoroughness, concentration of attention, body coordination, physical endurance, ability to work in a team. The carpenter performs activities independently, takes responsibility for the quality of performance procedures and results, is able to choose performance methods,
materials, tools and controls the quality of performance, is able to apply various not always well-known and tested solutions, materials and tools, makes decisions on preparatory work, installation coordination of the process with other work, supervises the activities of subordinate, lower-qualified employees, assigns tasks to them. The tasks of a carpenter's activities are set by a person with a higher qualification. After obtaining this qualification, individuals will be able to work in construction companies or carry out individual activities.

1. Store carpenter‘s materials, products, equipment and constructions.
2. Prepare and put in order a carpenter‘s work place.
3. Hang and detach loads.
4. Read construction work project.
5. Process wood with hand tools and woodworking machines.
6. Produce simple wooden products.
7. Assemble wooden supporting roof structures.
8. Assemble constructions of frame and panel buildings.
9. Assemble walls of log houses.
10. Install windows and doors.
11. Repair wooden products, constructions and their elements.
12. Finish constructions with wooden elements.
13. Lay parquet and board floors.
